    Some facts about Dooku
    He had a sister and a brother. His sister (Jenza) was killed by Ventress and his brother (Ramil) was killed by Dooku (he couldn't control himself)
    As a Jedi, Dooku often used violence, seeing no other way to compromise.
    Before The Phantom Menace, he will become the Count of the planet Sereno and leave the Jedi order. Yoda told him that he would always be a friend of the order and would always be welcome. Dooku visited them many times as he still had friends there (He's known them all his life).

      Unser which circumstances did ventress kill dookus sister? And how was he ok with it?

    • @hehu4025
      @hehu4025 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @@anakin07 Jenza knew too much and wanted to tell the Republic about Dooku.
      She saw that Dooku was changing. She begged him to contact the Jedi. She said they would help him. But after The Phantom Menace, Dooku cut himself off completely from the order.
      Ventress is Dooku's apprentice, so it was the Count who gave the order.

    I believe at the start of the Clone Wars, when Ahsoka and Anakin were trying to find Master Plo, stranded with Wolffe and some of his troopers, she delved a bit into her backstory saying he was the one to discover her at the age of 3, and brought her to the temple. This is why they have such a strong bond. But I don’t know much else about her backstory prior to her arrival.

    • @johnwkindig1613
      @johnwkindig1613 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      There is one scene in the intro to the Youngling arc in Season 5 that shows Master Plo kneeling in front of a toddler Ahsoka. Plus Her comments on Plo in S1 E2, that was all we had previously on her backstory.

    You know Plo Koon was the one finding Ahsoka and bringing her to the Temple as she said in the malevolence arc.

  • @Mis7erSeven
    @Mis7erSeven ปีที่แล้ว +10

    It was never mentioned anywhere what happened to Ahsokas parents. Just like we don't know anything about Obi-Wans, Qui-Gons or Windus parents. If parents found out that their child is force-sensitive, they did the same thing that Ahsokas parents did: Contact the jedi and eventually one of them will come and take the child and then they never see eachother again. For Ahsoka, we know it was Plo Koon who brought her to the jedi temple. The usual age for a youngling to join the jedi is 2 or 3 years, so they often barely remember their parents. This not only makes it easier for the jedi to not be attached to their family, it's also better for safety. Imagine someone wants to attack a jedi. This person could come up with the idea to kidnap the jedis family and use it against him/her. But if no one knows who the jedi is related to, this can never happen.

    Glad you're enjoying this series. It was great!
    I would like to mention though that I don't think the story of Star Wars is supposed to be tragic. The prequels and shows like the Clone Wars definitely are a tragedy, but the original trilogy and shows like Rebels are supposed to be the opposite: a story about hope. One of the main themes in Star Wars overall is actually hope. You can see the contrast in this series alone: Dooku and Ahsoka both had promising starts as jedi and they both eventually had problems with the order, and they left. But while Dooku's story is tragic and he went in the wrong direction, Ahsoka's story is hopeful and she chose the better way to do things.

    The scene at 12:00 has become one of my top 10 Star Wars scenes. Everything about it is perfect. It’s so tense. Yes we know the Jedi will be fine, but not the rest of the village.
    Doozy drops one of the coldest one liners in the series. “We serve the people of this republic”. Him drawing his blue saber is awesome.
    The soundtrack is called “Soldiers are Here” by none other than Kevin Kiner. Scary ass soundtrack. Keeps you on edge.
    The soldiers blindly following orders to slaughter a town. Yet you can see the town people don’t want to fight. They are shaking.
    And of course it ends with us glimpsing Dooku’s other side. The force choke, him taking them all on by himself. Then the most badass line in all of tales “corruption like yours must be eradicated”. Love it all.

    While I liked the Ahsoka episodes, I loved the Dooku's episodes alot more. Most of us knew the reasons why Dooku left the Jedi order and went to the dark side, we the audience never actually saw what took place behind the reasoning. Here, we really see and understand it better. Dooku is one of my favorite characters and I'm glad that he had the chance to shine for once.
    I do not condone Dooku's actions after the fact but I believe his reasons for leaving was legitimate. The Republic and the Jedi were not the good guys like the original trilogy had us believed.

    For the record the Jedi Code doesn't have jack to do with standing with the Republic but the Jedi have worked and allied themselves with the Republic which has maintained stability and relative peace in the galaxy for nearly 1000 years so naturally the try to maintain good relations within the framework of Republic law which obviously becomes quite tricky when it comes to things like systemic injustice and corruption. Also something people overlook when critiquing the Jedi is that they do not have any formal control over the Republic and regardless at the time of Episode I there were only 10,000 Jedi Knights in the entire galaxy. To put that into perspective Coruscant alone has 2-3 trillion people on it and there are many other planets with populations in the 10's to 100's of billions compared to earth with only around 7 billion. The Galactic Republic alone represented around 1.3 million planets. To take it to a farther extent the galaxy is home to around 3.2 billion systems which would each have one or more habitable planets or moons. So the fact the Jedi had the influence they did and weren't just drowned out due to the vast size and population of things was already hitting wayyyyyyyy above their pay grade which was undoubtedly greatly enhanced by them working directly with the Republic at higher levels. Had they not done this they may have been entirely ignored by the galaxy and severely hindered in their ability to help.

    • @jmwilliamsart
      @jmwilliamsart ปีที่แล้ว

      The Jedi might not have been hindered if they took the time to build trust and good relations with the ordinary people on their respective planets. The people then would’ve trusted the Jedi more, and gone out their way to help them However they could. Of course the Jedi would have to become a lot more independent of the Republic so as not to be mired in it’s politics. In Luke’s new Jedi Order in Legends & EU the Jedi spend a lot of their time on different worlds getting to know everything about the people, and they built trust and understanding between them. Whereas in this series the Jedi are too detached from the people, and they spend much of their time inside a temple.

    • @Iconic_Scarab
      @Iconic_Scarab ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jmwilliamsart I am not saying they couldn't have done more but again with only 10,000 knights at their peak the sheer size of the galaxy makes is pretty hard not be drowned out if all you did was grassroots on the ground stuff. In legends one figure from the time of the Empire put their territory as containing 100 quadrillion sentient beings. Just consider the real world who could name leading members of the United Nations or even top political leaders of other countries or even the various political leader in their own country or state much less something more obscure like members of private organizations and that is just on tiny little Earth not a whole galaxy. People want to talk about politics but just how much greater access/authority/reach do you think they were afforded due to their connection to the Republic? Heck they may have been just as much or more hindered by politics if they were independent and not granted that access because they would have go through the same processes as any regular citizen to get things done multiplied by every different planetary or regional government with no guarantee they wouldn't get turned away. It gets even more complicated when it comes to wars and other conflicts if they have no authority to do anything and political tensions are even greater. If they stick to only providing aid people will be mad they won't fight for them given how powerful they are and capable of doing so but if they do fight they run into their current predicament where their prominent involvement in the war efforts will result in them being associated with all the negative things that result from war and be blamed for it despite how frankly ridiculous that is given how its the senate who are responsible for making those decisions. All I am saying is that people quick to place a lot of blame on a group of only 10,000 people in non-policy making positions for not controlling the circumstances of a 100 quadrillion being galaxy. It would be less extreme to hold one person accountable for all the affairs of Earth.

    The reason they didn’t have this same animation for rebels , was because when Disney Bought lucasiflm from George Lucas in 2011 or 2012 they gave Dave filino a really low budget .For rebels because they didn’t belive in the success and this was happening on other Disney shows on that channel Disney XD .I think they were invested in force awakens which came out in 2015 one year later after the first season of rebels premiered . So that’s why season 1 of rebels was a bit slow and it sped up a lot during the middle and later part of season 1 . After rebels ended in early to mid 2018 they saw the success of rebels , and they decided to put more money behind Star Wars show . Thats why they let filoni go back and finish clone wars and do season 7 and they introduced live action shows for thr first time in 2019 with mando season 1 and in 2020 they told us they will be doing a plephora of Star Wars show in the next couple of years . So we could have gotten rebels in this animation if Disney gave filoni money for better animation .

      @@marshsundeen that’s true. But she did seem very happy to see him after her fight with Mando. Maybe there were a couple of few of yoda’s species at the Jedi temple. It’s a stretch. I know it’s not true. But Star Wars has a way of throwing us for a loop. They have to reveal eventually who saved him. Quinlan Vos?

    Episodes 2-4 are the best. 5 is good to, but 1 and 5 were let downs for me. No offense to Ahsoka, but Dooku and Qui-Gon are the MVP's of the show.

    1st episode made me facepalm. What kind of idiot mother will take her 1-year old child to hunt? How are you gonna shoot a rifle when her head is right under your shoulder, how do you know that she won’t cry and scare the prey, how are you gonna chase the prey? How are you gonna protect her from a predator…oh… And this child, who doesn’t understand what’s going on and thought that tiger is just playing games with mommy, who doesn’t even talk yet, who never used the Force before, somehow not only stops the tiger from eating her, not only convinces it to give her a ride, but somehow makes it to bring her to the village which it would never come close to because it knows it would be shot…She didn’t even know in which direction the village was from them! Even Ezra, who isn’t a great character, had real trouble with calming down animals or just making them feel his emotions, and he was a teenager with some basic Force training! Bravo Dave Filoni, you made Ahsoka a Mary Sue. And the weird thing - in next episode she is failing again and again! Does that mean that training makes her worse?
