    Just installed the MST elbow to my 2017 Ibiza, 1.2tsi and yeah it's a very tight/snug fit but it's in. I've got the full MST intake too so no stock intake parts now.
    The air intake alone would have a neat suction noise when accelerating but now I get the proper blow off noise in-between gear changes too while accelerating.
    Time to get a remap now I think 😎

      Glad to hear you managed to make it work… unfortunately I had to send mine back.
      I’m now looking at upgrading to a Closed Cone CAI from RacingLine which should provide the same performance as MST but with a more OEM style.

    I had bought the same part for the 1.4 TSI EA211.. I had already replaced the large hose between the air box and the elbow. All with a K&N air filter. When I installed the MST elbow, I had to adjust the various hoses before tightening the clamps, but it ended up sticking to the turbo breather hose. Finally after test on the road, you can no longer hear the wastegate, but I had lost torque at low revs. The turbo took longer to charge. I think this part is more suitable for the hybrid turbo. Another thing after 20,000 km the filter left a lot of sand particles and damaged the turbo blades. We could see the small impacts very well. I decided on seeing this to put back the entire original intake system. I have a stage 1 and now my turbo whistles a lot, the particles have done damage.

      @alexandermax13  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry to hear you’ve ended up with damage to your turbo spindle.
      To mitigate that I’m actually going to be staying with the OEM turbo elbow to try and have it capture any particles that channel down into the turbo.
      Additionally I’ll be replacing the OEM Air Box for a RacingLine Closed CAI, this should prevent engine grit from getting to the filter and if it happened to get in it would collect in the enclosed box.
      Let me know how you get on with your build.

      @@alexandermax13 so basically this OEM plastic turbo inlet (elbow) with internal sections is aimed for a particle or dirty retention? Preventing those particles to be sent directly to the turbo? I thought it's only to avoid turbo turbulence bringing more comfort during a stock driving experience. It is Surprises me how performance companies do not be aware or advise customers about that possible issue 😢

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  ปีที่แล้ว

      It may have a small affect in reducing turbulence, however, I believe its main aim to be particulate capture in addition to induction muffling etc.

      Thanks for your insights guys, however the baffles are purely for turbo sound mitigation, they are not designed to catch any particles. That’s what the filter is for. The suction inside the turbo inlet pipe is pretty strong and it would suck out any and all particles from inside those baffles with every acceleration. I would suspect that the K&N filter is the culprit, they are indeed less restrictive but let more particles through.

    El codo mst se lo puse yo pero yo llevo la caja mst y queda de lujo en caja se escucha más el turbo no retiene el sonido le entrará más fresquito también 👌👌

      Desafortunadamente, mi experiencia con MST no es buena, por eso el video. Como puede ver, ninguna de las piezas está instalada, dado el costo de las piezas, esto es inaceptable por parte de MST Performance.

    Seems to be a common theme with these parts, just finished installing on my Fabia 1.2 tsi 110, was able to get it all to fit with a bit of work but was a pain in the arse to get the factory elbow off because of various hoses being in the way. The inlet pipe seems to have the greatest effect on intake with the elbow only making a small difference. I’ll keep it on for a bit and see how it goes but in hind sight probably just go for the intake hose and save the money for something else.
    A very informative video but only found it after I’d already ordered both parts.

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry to hear you had a similarly disastrous experience. In the end I decided to remove the MST Elbow Pipe entirely given the baffles annoying as they are would at least prevent dust getting into the turbo.
      For reference, my future CAI of choice will be one manufactured by RacingLine and made specifically for the EA211 1.4T.
      I appreciate all you great feedback! Have a great day.

    I had a similar issue, was quite disappointed. I managed to get it to fit but I was using the original intake pipe (from the air box) but I was not happy with the fit as it rubbed and was the wrong angle.

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the Turbo Elbow hasn’t got the correct angle therefore making it impossible to fit the OEM Charge Pipe back onto the turbo. With that I couldn’t get the OEM Airbox to fit back down onto its mounting holes.

      The APR Coils are MS100192 (Red) and they’re installed in a CZCA EA211 engine. I feel like I get better response and for lack of a better word a bigger bang as I feel a better response. Even if this is all in my head… they look great on these smaller 1.4TSI engines.

    This is seemingly a common fault and is described in detail on various forums. I originally had just the intake tube on and to be fair it fitted ok with maybe a couple of mil off. However it did make a slight difference to the sound but I noticed no gains and only slight BOV noise increase on up take etc on top of the gains from the upgraded PRORAM synthetic filter.

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sad to hear it mate! What CAI are you running on your EA211? Or is it custom pipe work with a ProRam filter?

    • @colinjbell8505
      @colinjbell8505 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alexandermax13 went with standard set up with the upgraded PRORAM filter. Ended up taking off the intake pipe as preferred the OEM look. Also went semi Semi Pikey R600 where I drilled out the blanked off panel on the passenger side of the intake/slam panel. I was conscious of water ingress especially living in the climate we do hence not a full cut. I also added the slam panel blanking plate. This made a massive difference to the uptake of the car and gives better “BOV” noise. You are losing much of the desired closed intake effect having the panel open to the engine bay never mind the potential heat soak element this now creates a proper CAI with minimal effort and cost.
