    Superb video! I have just purchased the exact same RT and have been fretting over whether to fit the Wunderlich bars. Some reviewers point to YT for videos on how to fit them and yours is spot on. Happy riding!

    Great tutorial compliment to the sparse instructions from Wunderlich. I'll be watching again while installing mine guards. Many thanks from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    Thank you for the very detailed instructions. My Wunderlich bars are arriving today and, with your help, I plan to install them without any hesitation or complications. I especially like your heads-up with the R & R of the plastic parts. Greg from Sacramento.

    Brilliant video/instruction. I just installed these on my 2022 R1250RT, and while not a exact match I was able to figure out the minor differences. Thanks very much!!!

    Excellent video, thank you very much.
    I managed to put them on by removing only the first plastic cover, you will have to screw the upper part of the bar from the front of the bike, but it is done without problems.

    I'm a little late, but nicely done! Your filming was excellent showing detail up close and your dialog was clear and concise. I have a 2024 model with my name on it coming in February. Hopefully sooner, because it's really hard waiting for it, haha. They are pretty expensive, but I do plan on fitting the Wunderlich bars as I prefer their mounting and aesthetics to the Ilium Works version, even though Ilium's headquarters is just down the street from me.

    Very good video.. I have some Givi bars to fit to mine and whilst I am sure they will be a bit different to fit, to these, this is a very useful video so that I have some idea of what to do/expect. The instructions that come with the Givi Bars is absolute rubbish. I cant find a video for fitting them on an R1250RT 19/20 with fog lights. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I have this one saved!

      I wanted to install the front GIVI bars on my 2020 R1250RT; however, the issue is that my motorbike is equipped with fog lights, and the GIVI Bars do not have a place to mount the bracket.

    Great video, very helpful. My only issue is the left side fog light wire harness is an inch too short. I haven’t figured out how to create relief in the harness to allow it to connect. I’ve removed a couple zip ties to no avail.

      I just installed the bars on my 2022 RT and I have the SAME issue! Left side fog light wire is too short to reach the new position of the light! Did you find a solution for this issue?

    • @retiredjetmechanic6219
      @retiredjetmechanic6219 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adferrao4040 I guess we know it’s a design flaw. I order a set of fog light brackets, but they’re coming from China and won’t be here for another 2 weeks. I went to my dealer and they didn’t have any brackets and didn’t find anything I thought would work with a quicker delivery time. Here’s the description “2 Pcs Motorcycle Driving Aux Light Fog Lamp Bracket For 25mm Mounting Diameter”

      Same issue here. The left side fog light wire is about an inch too short also, 2020 RT. Unless somebody finds a resolution to this design flaw, all I can think of is to extend it by splicing and adding two inches of wire.

    • @retiredjetmechanic6219
      @retiredjetmechanic6219 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn’t like how far forward the fog light was pushed using then OEM mount, plus i didn’t want to splice the original wire harness.
      I found mounts, from a company in China, which clamp to the crash bars. The wire harness is just long enough to connect to the fog light.

    On the new 2021 RT these bars don’t fit without some modifications if transferring the engine bars from a 2019 1250 RT to a 2021 RT
    Good video helped me make the swop with help of a trolly Jack to modify the fit of the bars 👍

    • @SH-xq4dq
      @SH-xq4dq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard , all it needs it to be opened up , I did this with a car Jack which spread the bracket by about 5 MM or a bit less , just gentle pressure needed to spread the tubing , nothing dramatic just took a bit of setting up and alignment check , under rather than over stretch I decided as easier to open the gap than close it if over opened if you follow
      Hope that helps

    Excellent video thanks. Just installed the same one on my R1250 rt 2021. I have hard time with the positioning of the bottom bolt the hole was not straight with the mounting bar. I had to unscrewed the first 2 bolts but even that was not able to aligned easily the bottom bolt. I finally succeeded but I was scared to screwed cross tread. Not sure why that bottom bolt was off maybe my mistake or a production problem.

    Did you do anything differently on the LEFT side?
    I seem to be having lots of problem mounting the Aux light on that Wunderlich bar with the extra hole.
    The Left OEM Aux light bar has a special steel molding with screw treads inside and that's the only hole.
    When I placed the Wunderlich bolt through it, the lock nut and the bolt can screwed all the way in but it does not lock the black color Aux mounting bar from freely moving.

      @@themotorcycleshed380 Hi thanks for answering. Wunderlich are still waiting for a bike to check. Hopefully they will know before the bike arrives so that I can order them ready. Looking to fit VIOFO MT1 cameras, also sold by the seller of the INNOVV K2 cameras and recommended by them. They say that they will fit the same as the K2 and are similar quality. • @themotorcycleshed380
      @themotorcycleshed380  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SP-ek2qz there is a switched supply that runs the sat nav, it’s just behind the headlamp. It terminates on the in built multi contact garmin mounting point. If you are not running the Garmin sat nav then this would be an ideal take off point. Nippy normans in the uk sell a cable assembly that replaces the section from the connector to the multi contact mount. It’s designed to power ‘ignition on’ accessories. You have to take the screen and top section of central dash board off to get at it...

    • @SP-ek2qz
      @SP-ek2qz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@themotorcycleshed380 Thanks again. The cameras also have to be connected to the battery, so I wondering if there is somewhere under the seat to pick up a switched live please? Someone has suggested the rear light cable which is supposedly under the rear seat, or the rear power socket which although I haven't got, the cable should still be there?

      I did some fast twisties here in the UK Peak District recently on the RT and didn’t have a problem with the bars grounding. Like you I’m not into the racing around corners but as the bike goes round corners so well I have certainly explored this side of its nature. I can’t say if the pegs hit first. I think the bars are worth fitting.
