You are right and at least in our premade we do appreciate good healers. When pugging - especially this week (where people want to push higher than their ilvl but also higher than their skills would allow - we encountered multiple instances where DPS needed to use all the def cd-s at start because healers just "re-realized" that yeah x or y hurts. Things like 3rd boss in EB where the same pattern goes around but somehow it still surprises healers and on 21-22 keys it often results a death or wipe. Having a healer which understands
1. how the class works (e.g. don't treat a rdruid as a hpala)
2. how other classes work (e.g. knowing the survival capabilities of a specs / class)
3. surrounding awareness (e.g. knowing where to move to not to get hit by frontal, the purple swirly below you is not your friend, etc)
4. boss and trash mechanics (to know when burst heal is "expected"
Also, the reason why Aug evokers were and still are strong is because the group utility they have is just too good. They help healers to heal better, tanks to stay alive more and dps to do dmg and besides that they still have amazing cc-s + can deal with affix.

As a healer in m+, I can confirm I am in fact a PUG hero.
I would argue that every role is equally important. Tank doesn't tank, you die, healer doesn't heal, you die, dps doesn't do enough dps, you die.
Does a tank need to keep agro and max out their dps? Yes
Does a healer need to keep everyone alive and dps? Yes
Does a dps need to max out their dps to make the fight easier/shorter? Yes
It's all required, and the harder the content becomes the more that becomes true.

@@terrancemiller7456 i mean, you're not wrong but considering that dps is indeed a role, that automatically becomes part of the conversation.
I should also point out that he is directly comparing to healing/tanking in the video.
I understand where he is coming from, he argues in the video that dps has no upper limit like healing/tanking. Extra healing is a waste and he's not wrong.
However my point was that each role has a minimum value threshold, if any role doesn't meet the mimimum then a wipe follows. Hence why I said that each aspect is equally important.
I actually agree with the video, provided that the other roles meet their own mimimum requirement at least. At that point dps does then become the most important factor to improve upon, as the rest would suffer from diminishing returns.
The tank & the healer are like parents to 3 rambunctious kids -- just trying to keep 'em alive as they stand in fire or run headlong into packs of mobs.
A ret who has truly mastered his toolkit, and knows how to use it actively is also quite an advanced player.
My ret in my group can be the difference between wiping, and not.
He';ll legit sacrafice on a tank, then use a defensive to mitigate it.
And with 3-4 holy power he can basically off heal forever.
he uses everything one can as a ret, and constantly. And man what a difference lol.

Yesterday i was doing a +10 galakrond and there was rogue who was failing hard on the mechanic but with a solid dps. Guess what! The Key broke!! DPS is useless If you dont know what to do! Neither the healer Nor the rogue knew what they were doing on Iridikron fight!!!
Of course knowing the fight is more important than Dps. Same could be said for tank and healers, if they don’t know the fight they become liabilities instead of an asset to the fight. I’d rather have an okay team that knows the fight than a juggernaut team who doesn’t know the machanics
@@PdwardEarrales exactly!!! But the dumb rogue wanted to lust on pull, not even doing the mech and doing a tank spank... So I left. I aint gona mess up my IO for dumb shit like that.
@@gabrielraw7979 lol I feel you, you should see some of the teams I’ve been in. People think just cause their item level is high they can ignore important fight mechanics. People really need to run a few low keys before jumping into 10 and higher keys

I would appreciate it if they leaned more into a spec role. Tanks need to be super resilient but low damage. Healers should be low damage but last forever. Dps needs to have buffed numbers

it would be boring for tanks and healers , sure tanks should just tank and healers should just heal , but everyone like to do damage and optimize their classes for more damage to help push keys and compensate for the dmg loss in case your pug dps is lack some , and its not a bad thing , you should never limit your class in fantasy game , if we talk also per example in league of legends , that tanks only be a wall doing jack shit and just tanking and standing there , it would feel boring for them , cause nobody likes that gameplay and the majority would switch to bruisers , limiting classes is a boring design , and anyway dps will still out damage healers and tanks anyway , its not like they are outdamaging them or competing with them.
with out whatching , stuff likes this makes tanksdo dmg instand of being tanky and healers try to deal dmg while others die . Maybe in higer tiers this is true but in the middel tier it cost keys .

Depends how you define shitty, cuz I can say, play with average DPS and you wont push high and mechanics are hard even if tank and heal are pro, play with average heal and tank and pro dps, and the key gets blasted xD
yeah, you aren't getting anywhere with a shitty tank or healer.
But.... everything is a healer affix aint it😅 so many dps not willing to give up any dps to cc, stun, dispell or whatever. I play almost every healing class cuz I love being a healer. The thing that bothers me in especially M+ pugs is that I have to correct so many dps mistakes like not following mechanics😢. So Flame & co. Educate those swines!❤

In pugs, I don't mind if healers aren't doing a ton of DPS, because they honestly have to deal with more healing of incompetent players who don't do mechanics properly. However if for example resto shaman refuses to use Flame Shock for free Lava Burst procs for WHOLE RUN AND JUST STANDS THERE AFKING, then they should just go play something like Animal Crossing and not play WoW m+ anymore. I will never comprehend how so many healers can just stand there and do nothing when healing is not needed. If somebody wants to AFK, they shouldn't go into an m+ no mattet the key lvl, simple as that.
This is one of the top reasons (among other reasons) why I stopped playing WoW in the middle of SL, because I've had way too many experiences with healers who claimed they are healers so they don't wanna do dps. I just didn't want to crawl, struggle and carry the weight of others as a tank main to the KSM in the sea of this particular type of players to say it very politely.
The Only thing i know is that DPS is the source of the 90% of the toxicity in this game. Even if you cc, kick and make healer/tank an easier life, the other dps will Always be mad at you if your dps is not too high. Not to speak if you want to enjoy your game with an " out of meta" class/spec.
They all act like they are payed Pro players.. the truth is that they pay Blizzard and not the opposite. Very funny to me.😊

@@MarcelianOnline watched the whole video. Its a great take but as you pointed out, dps is the most role you can min-max but that should not come at the cost of others, as in the rest of the role has to be there to maximize your dps

healers doing damage only works with high end players because the whole group is good, never makes a mistake and all damage is predictable because of that. Playing with pugs and normal people is different. They make mistakes. They take avoidable damage and miss kicks. People can die in 1 GCD that I could have saved if I wasn't dpsing, leading to a whole party wipe if it was the tank or a massive dps loss if it was a dps. It's just not worth it unless you really know the skill level of the other players.

Outdps-ng equally well geared dps players who are half assing the raid as disc priest is both a good feeling and something very sad. They got better tools to obliterate the boss than I do, so the least they can do is to outdps me, at least by 1k, even that would make a huge difference in some cases
Whatever role has has good players in your raid(either tank, dps or heals) will be the most important. Good healers can keep the group up, even if tanks mess up and the deeps is low. Good tanks can surivive if the healing is a little off and the deeps is slow. Good deeps can kill the boss so fast that the tank and heals can be off, but the boss will still go down.
I came back from S1, i play disc now! I just feel more pressured to dps then heal

The number 1 bottleneck I've run into in pug raids is that DPS is just too low.
Can't push phases or beat enrage or kill priority adds in time.
