- How many colors do we really NEED in a travel kit? It's up to you! These are my favorite little basic home made kits, with color play to demonstrate.
I made this little video while working on another one for Sketchbook Skool...I hope you enjoy it!
We learn so much valuable information from you, for example: "value is more important than matching colors." Thank you for your videos and hoping for even more videos in the future.
So glad you enjoy them!
I have a lot of fun if I choice per project another triad of primary colors ...
because every pigment is a little bit different in combination with other pigments - to use just two, or three colors can be very interesting and can never be boring because the endless color range between them - and every watercolor work will be unique and harmonicly in my opinion.
Thank you for your generosity with your knowledge Cathy. It is much appreciated.
Thankyou so much Cathy for sharing!
I've discovered watercolor in your books and now I'm taking a sketchbook with me regularly. I'm enchanted by your watercolors paintings!
thank you so much, you're very kind!
I loved this video!
I love your watercolor !!! Thanks for your sharing ^_^
Playing with colors like that can be so liberating. Loved the video.
Less is definitely more!
Love that second subdued set too.
Thank you for more ideas!!
Never seen you before Jane, but so glad I have now. Very impressed with your casual yet thorough teaching.
Thanks so much for this. It suggests that almost an equal joy in creating a painting is playing with discovering the actual colours! (Also, thank you for mentioning the controversy surrounding cadmiums.)
That was lovely, I feel relaxed knowing that I don't need all the paints offered by a company! Certainly not as a beginner. I'm learning so much about paint, paint properties and paint chemistry. I love playing with color, shape, value, texture. That was a very important it'd bit about value being more important than color. I will hold that in mind until I get my mind and experience around it.
Glad to help! I like a few convenience colors, but having TOO many just slows me down.
What a great lesson. Thank you so much.
Love this video, I love to take different reds, blues, and yellows and see what they do. I was so happy to see this new one, always look for yours, when checking youtube! TFS Alice
Thank you for sharing Cathy:)
Yay! I'm so happy for the new video, plus it's very helpful !
I love that second set, have to it out! Thanks so much Cathy :-)
+Li Ela, I really enjoy playing with that one! I wish I could have turned up more examples of work done with it!
This was so helpful to me! Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Kate! That was fun!
Thanks for the demo, Kate!
Sorry about my earlier post. I meant Cathy, not Jane !
Hi Kate! I just have question,
if I paint an Altoïd's box with white Acrylic paint, do I need to glaze it? Even if it's waterproof paint ?
thank's in advance!
+Samba james I don't know for sure, but most acrylic paint will peel off it gets wet. I use a spray enamel meant for appliances!
Well, I already painted the inside in acrylic, but I can spray the enamel on top of it right?
Thank you so much!
+Samba james No idea! Give it a try and let us know if it works!
It seemed that your yellow was clean, but what was not clean was your water which transferred into the yellow.
