    The story with Bill Gates was a great way to explain the outlayer concept.
    I have been working with numbers and data now for several years, but can not convince consultants or customers to use "Mode" so I may not miss it in power bi. But I know it is my own mistake, I have not found a good example in our data, that can convince them

    • @CurbalEN
      @CurbalEN  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmmm to be honest, I don’t use mod either, but that has to do with my own ignorance! Let me see if I can find a good example.

    Hi Ruth
    Thank you for this excellent video. Good that you are doing the statistic measures.
    For the mode, can't we calculate using the following DAX measure?
    Mode :=
    VAR ModeTable =
    DISTINCT (
    TOPN (
    1,
    ADDCOLUMNS (
    VALUES ( 'Sample 1'[Income] ),
    "frequency", CALCULATE ( COUNT ( 'Sample 1'[Income] ) )
    ),
    [frequency], 0
    )
    )
    VAR ModeSum =
    SUM ( 'mode table'[Income])
    VAR ModeCount =
    COUNTROWS ( ModeTable )
    RETURN
    DIVIDE ( ModeSum, ModeCount, 0 )

    • @CurbalEN
      @CurbalEN  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean to calculate it by adding up both modes and divide by 2? Sure, you can do that :)
      /Ruth

    • @CurbalEN
      @CurbalEN  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can change Minx by SUMX and then divide by the max of frequency.

    Very useful thanks Ruth. It seems to me that you explained the Italians' Mode calculation twice - once from about 14.30 and then again from 22ish. Or did I miss the difference?

    How would you show the dual mode in a card? Since there will be more than one value to choose from, you would need to use some sort of wrapper function to place each value in a string with let’s say, separation by a comma. I would like to do that, so I can show that multiple made in a card. Can you add that wrapper code to the existing dax function (instead of minx, maxx)?

    Hi Ruth, a question you might help me with ;)
    How can we extract the second latest date depending on id's. E.g a table with a date, an id and a revenue column. Now we would like to get the difference between the latest revenue and the second latest revenue for each id. Any ideas? Thank you

    Hi Ruth,
    Did you change any data in Sample 1 at 13:56 of the video? Before that Sample 1 is showing an Average of $50,000 and at 13:56 it becomes $49,250. With the previous numbers, I get the Mode as $45,000 for both Samples.
    Thanks,
    Jeff
