In this song, it is as if I saw the entire history and fate of the Romani gypsy people through the perspective of a young fierce gypsy woman: - In the 50 seconds the camera flies us into some mysterious mountains with beautiful blue skies, meandering crystal clear rivers. - At 1:00 when the flute started, a tiny gypsy settlement comes into picture right in a corner of the riverbank. The tribe/ family is taking a break here in between the long exhausting travels performing in different cities, it's the only few days when time only belongs to them, where they don't have to rush and perform for others. A young woman in a long skirt and a tight burgundy headscarf with white flowers is hanging freshly washed cloths on the branches. Everyone is busy enjoying this free time, some are fixing their tools or costumes, some are practicing new magic tricks, some are cutting ingredients for the big feast tonight. Crispy laughters in the wind, echoing in the darkening valleys. - 5:44, the night arrives. The bonfire is lit. The feast has started with meat on the grill, alcohol, louder and crazier laughters, passionate dances around the bonfire... It is as if the night spirit came to join the party. He and the girl starts this war-dance and everything faded away around them. He, the embodiment of the God of freedom AND the Devil of Karma at the same time, loving and destructive, merciful and merciless at the same time. She, a mortal, goes up to wrestle/dance with this dark creature courageously without backing down. Her eyes burns of fierceness and fear at the same time... - 8:45, the dawn arrives. The war-dance finally stops. She is sitting all alone at the river staring at the rising sun reflected in the water. She has accepted the invincible power of that dark creature, the invincible power of freedom and karma. But she is not defeated. She simply made peace in her heart with the law of nature, the cycle of life and death, of blossom and wither...
Usually i try to stay away from videos of handpans with other instruments. It never works.... Until i heard this one.... wow.... absolutely wow.... wish there was more
