As someone who was in a wedding that was filmed by a TLC show, I can confirm that everyone knew what they signed up for with this. So the moms and sons willingly came onto this together knowing what it was. I can't speak for all reality TV but this type of TLC stuff is basically guided improvisation

I also think that they are betting with that investment that “any publicity is good publicity” and because it’s so outrageous this show proably got many views first episode. Let’s hope it’s sort of fizzles out in terms of people not watching in protest of the show. That’s my issue with a lot of the current entertainment we see on TV, Networks, and Movies. But this takes things to a new level in the completely wrong direction

This show is literally like an accident you cant walk away you cant not watch and you just want it to be over
I used to work in a residential mental health facility for children. A LOT (and i mean a lot) of the boys had sexual relations with their moms on a regular basis. They were oblivious that theres deep rooted problems with that and 99% of the time thought of it as a normal childhood and were attracted to their mother.
Needless to say: not blaming the sons, the parents were fully in the wrong. this is just to describe how much i saw this in the facility
This is trauma happening in real-time. No matter how good these moms have been outside of the show up until this point, the fact that they still agreed to do this to their sons is absolutely inexcusable and automatically makes them trash moms. I'm not sorry.
