When you think about it, the withereds are the victims here... their house was literally broken into by kids with the intentions to steal from them, all of them (aside from Nightmare BB, but he's technically not a withered) were killed, etc.
Still, the kids tried to steal and the withereds killed them, if someone tried stealing your tv and didnt want to harm, would you shoot them?
