    I liked the fact that you made the power hammer without electrical or gas power, didn't like how it traveled on you though. But pretty good first go. You gave me some ideas, I'm going to make mine out of metal and use an electric motor with a snail cam. I have some 4 inch mild steel that I'm going to use for the hammer and anvil. Really liked the video, keep them coming.

    I've been trying to make a power hammer for a long time. I think I might do it this way now. Great video.

    Mate you are doing a grand job. Everything ive seen you do so far is the spirit of smithing. From the sushi knife to MAKING YOUR OWN POWER HAMMER!!!! you're so young to be doing this well and it gives me hope for what the future of smithing will be.

      Thank you! I think I am going to have to put some rubber underneath it since my dad won’t let me drill into the floors...

    Good to see you are protecting your feet better 🦶👍
    I dropped some molten lead on my bare foot when about your age. It was paineful, but luckylie just a few droplets of it.

    you need the head to free fall with a bit more weight on it and the treadle to pick it up and let it fall. But I give you real props for putting down the screens and getting your hands dirty and building something. Just keep at it. Maybe watch a few videos at weldingtipsandtricks.com

      He was a professional woodworker for about ten years. So he taught me a bunch about that. I also take a woodworking classic two days a week, but he never worked with metal, everything I do with metal, like welding, forging, grinding and all that is self taught mainly from watching TH-cam. In my 100 subscriber play button vid he helped me a lot. Now I could do all that on my own. Thanks for watching and make sure you subscribe!🙂

      Still making things and uploading videos! Just at a slower rate than I used to. This hammer I took apart when I moved and went to scrap. I’d suggest following my Instagram as I post a lot more there. 👍🔥

    How well does it move material compared to hand hammering?

    • @Drew_lininger
      @Drew_lininger  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Overall, I would say not as well. But it is still fun!
