I been having laser sessions to lighten my tattoo so i can get something new. So I need to protect it from the sun and prevent from scraping my skin while working on my cars.
Flexx quick question as I’m planning on ordering this from TTS, did you need to oil the filter cone before installing? If you did what oil brand did you use, thanks!
No. Cottons filters don’t really need oil. You can do it (like K&N does) so the oil can capture more dust and debris but excess oil can get sucked through the intake system which is a no-no. I just leave my filters dry and wash them with dish soap/water like twice a year and let them air dry before reinstalling. The filter from my intake from IE on my tuned A4 is also dry. Doesn’t require oil. Just wash with soap and water and dry.
Keep in mind viewers, when doing all 3 of these upgrades with the Gofastbits BOV the spacing gets very tight. I would recommend doing all of these upgrades at the same time. The charge pip would be the exception as it is very easy. with the turbo air intake I found I needed to do a lot of in and out (account for loom wires + sensor plugs). I suggest putting some markings (white dots) one where and what angles things should face. You also want to make sure all your clamps are easily accessable should you need to get MB to service something. All in all it is a very tight fit and not much margin for error. You find the wiring looms get shorter due to the slightly large piping, especially when you include the GFB BOV. It was great to have Flexx vidoes as most of this stuff you dont get any instructions. GFB is the exception.
I do it for any install that’s in the engine bay or any install that has to do with electricity. Cause during an install, I don’t want to accidentally touch/knock a sensor/electrical component and cause a spark or short in the system. And no, I’ve never ran into memory loss issues after disconnecting a battery. (On multiple cars I’ve never had that issue).
Hey man, I just installed the tornado tuning intake in my car. I have noticed now that there is a lot more smoke coming out my exhaust. I’m not 100 percent sure if it is because of the intake of something else but I was wondering if you ever noticed more smoke coming out the exhaust during the winter time with the new intake installed? Thank you.
Intakes usually have nothing to do with the exhaust. However, if an engine is not receiving enough air to mix with fuel, that could cause a lean burn…which would be black smoke. The filter would have to be like majorly restricting airflow which I can’t see happening. One of the cars sensors would have throw a check engine light. Have you tried installing your stock intake to see if the problem goes away? That’s the easiest way to see if the new intake is the issue.
yo flex, how much HP gains have you gotten from the intake kit, the intake tube, the BOV and the turbo charge pipe? i’m just wondering if all of this will add around 20hp or so or if i’m way off. please let me know!
Yes but there’s like 3 versions. I did a video on each of them over the past few years. There’s a version with a Black cover, faux carbon cover, and a real carbon cover. You just need to email tornado tuning and request pricing on which you want. Info in description.
No point. A c250 only has 1 pipe from the main cat. Why would you wanna split a 1 pipe to 2 just to do an x pipe? The only reason you should be splitting 1 to 2 is for looks like a quad tip. X pipe only make sense for cars that have 2 pipes coming from the main cats
I’m not familiar with MST since I’ve been only sponsored and only used all of TTS products. All I can say is the TTS products been pretty good but keep in mind that “intake kits”…regardless who makes it…is not really a noticeable performance enhancer unless you really build up you engine.
