Jagmeet Singh has zero power beyond rhetoric to oust Trudeau until at least January. Stephen Harper set a precedent for this in 2008 when he dissolved the house to explicitly prevent a confidence vote when the opposition parties formed a coalition. I think an election would be best for the country right now, but the law is the law, and Poilievre knows he's in the wrong here.
