I think the “wishing they were just watching snowboard videos” joke counts. Anything other than that would be too obvious and “below” them, in their mind, I reckon. Making jokes about being Canadian for canadiens is about as unfunny as making jokes about being American for Americans.
Would be weird to point out you're from the same country when that's just a fact of life. Like if two Americans collaborate they aren't going to point out that they're both American.
