    Pretty fabric and the quilting pattern looks fantastic! Its just mesmerizing to watch automation at work. I have a hard time deciding what size to stitch the pattern in. It's difficult for me to decide the size to use when setting up a large quilt. Any suggestions/tips?

      Thanks for watching! When I first started I decided based on my throat space. I have 2 long arms, so my small one only has about 12" of stitch area once some is rolled onto the backing poll, so I would use even numbers like 2-4-6" tall depending on how dense I wanted the design, the if I want the stitching really dense I keep the rows very close together. Hope that helps. I added that to my list of things to cover in the future too.

      @@GinaTellThreadGraffiti Thanks, makes sense. I'll try your strategy on my next quilting project. That's the hardest part for me. I'm always worried I've chosen wrong because once that 'sew' button is pushed there's no going back lol. More info in future videos would be great.

    Thank you, Gina, for taking the time to film the process you use to quilt on your long arm. I noted that you added side pieces, which is very interesting. I also noted that you basted the quilt on the left side, the right side and the bottom. You must have basted the top too, right?

    • @GinaTellThreadGraffiti
      @GinaTellThreadGraffiti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I am not sure what you mean by adding side pieces, but if you have a question let me know and I will try to clarify. I baste the top and as much of both sides as I can reach the night before, then after I advance I bast the rest of the quilt sides and bottom.

      Sue, I also thought that there were side pieces added but in Part 2 there's a closeup that reveals those side pieces are batting. Mystery solved 😊

      @@jennystrahley927 sometimes when I do smaller quilts I used leftover batting that is larger than necessary by a few inches

    What colour thread do you use on most of your quilts. Kimberly says you use thread that doesn't show. Thanks for video

    • @GinaTellThreadGraffiti
      @GinaTellThreadGraffiti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used Glide 60wt on all of Kimberly's quilts, it is a great wt to blend in with most fabrics, typically I used Linen, White & Cream for her. Thanks for watching!

    Gina I loved watching your video. What a fabulous job you do! I have thought about buying a ProStitcher but I still enjoy free motion. I have a HQ Amara but still have a lot of room to grow my quilting skills.
    A few questions for you:
    What thread do you use? I use Glide. I fill my bobbin up to about an 1/8" from the edge of the bobbin. Glide is a silky thread and it unravels in the bobbin race if it's completely full.
    What is your top thread tension measurement? My top thread seems a lot tighter than yours. When I have to tie off, I have to gently pull the top thread to move the needle back.
    How/where do you check your tension on the bottom of the quilt before you start the ProStitcher?
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      It took a little over an hour to do the long arm portion only. Thanks for watching!
