I just got the exact piercing Saturday, and as he stated mine was cricket. So I had to contact the owner. Take out the piercing, and now wait for it to heal a bit before I return to let the owner do it. It is quick, and the needle truely doesn’t hurt. Then again I do have 6 piercings including a tongue ring already.

With a tongue piercing, you can pierce through a vein and bleed out and die. It’s very stupid. If a professional piercer won’t do a piercing, there’s a reason. LOL i started drinkin alcohol and eating anything and smoking the day of the piercing last year in june. but it didnt fully heal until mid october. So yeah xD probably woulda healed faster if i didnt do all those lmao
Back in 2000 I got my tongue pierced. I had it for 7 years and I loved it, but all of a sudden I noticed that when I would wake up my tongue was swollen. When I stood up the swelling would go away. It was fine the whole time but from that day on it was a daily occurrence and I took it out. I’d like to have it done again. Did anyone else have this happen to them or do you know what caused it??
i apologize for responding a year past hahaha, but i’m sure hearing the reason as to why this was going on will still be satisfying! (sorry this is so long,, i love the science behind piercing!) unfortunately… the “snake eyes” tongue piercing is a piercing that has many potential health complications, and to be frank if ANY piercer is willing to do this on someone… i personally do not believe they are a good piercer. to start,, your muscles and nerves in your tongue.. all run vertically, “down” the tongue. and when you take a needle, and pierce horizontally through all of those muscles and nerve endings,, chances are you will most certainly stab through a good bit of ‘em. a standard tongue piercing simply pierces between them- maybe hits one or two if they’re absolutely unavoidable. when you pierce a tongue, it will swell- which is completely normal and to be expected. now.. with a standard, normal, vertical tongue piercing, you have plenty of room from the base->roof of your mouth to use a longer barbell! this allows room for the tongue to swell, without risking too short jewelry during swelling- which will lead to the tongue enveloping the jewelry which just causes more issues. the same goes with the tip of the tongue! …except you only have so much space… now… your options are: to keep the tiny curved barbell in, let it swell, prob swallow the jewelry, etc. or,, put a longer one in- which will just make it difficult to do basic things,, like close your mouth… since your tongue is literally the width of your mouth ahahaha. also! even worse-which i’m so sorry i feel like such a party pooper on these hahaha- with almost any piercing, it’s safer to go deeper rather than shallower… the closer to the edge, the higher chance of it rejecting out. this piercing is already at the tip of your tongue, so, prone to rejection… but if you try to go deeper to prevent that? you’ll actually end off worse with it deeper! since the only way to “pull it off” is by getting it as close to the tip as you can…. so lose-lose situation. so all of that on top of eachother is essentially a big ‘ol pile of health issues- that get caused by the damaged muscles/nerves, the extremely restricted conditions it’s under while swelling, the rejection rate, etc. all of that combined creates a high chance of what your tongue had issues with unfortunately. but a huge congrats on keeping it for 7 years like holy hell!! very very hard to come by someone who successfully kept it. :-)

I've head this piercing is quite dangerous, because your tongue is made of two separate muscles and when you have a bar running horizontally, it restricts that movement.. I was just wondering what your opinion is on that, and if there's a place where you can pierce it (ie, further up) or some other measure that would prevent this. The other issue with this piercing is that every time you enunciate you slam the jewelry against your teeth that can cause permanent damage wearing away the enamel. You can have similar issues with a standard tongue piercings, but due to this particular placement it is more likely to cause tooth damage. I did it for years and now I no longer want to facilitate dental issues.

Out of most videos I’ve watched, this piercer has been the most professional and is telling you about the after care and is educating you if you don’t already do your own research. If the piercing is done wrong you’ll definitely be prone to losing taste, mobility of the tongue, speech impediments and can cause damage to your gums and chipping of the teeth. This piercing could also migrate and or reject. That could depend on person to person. Read up on this type of oral piercing and talk to multiple piercers because a lot of people will refuse to do it because of those risks. I wouldn’t suggest this as a first piercing to get. Especially if you’re not familiar with the upkeep afterwards, the healing process will be god awful. Be very careful with this one. If you really want this piercing you’re gonna go through the pain of aftercare and do everything needed knowing what could or might happen. In the end if you keep up with it and it heals properly you can switch out the jewelry to a shorter barbell with plastic balls to keep from dental damage. You do you at the end of the day. Good luck
I got mines 5 days ago he pierced me with a shorter jewel and omgggggg did my tongue swell yes I didn’t have enough room for the swelling so my piercing started to sink in my tongue I had to get a better size it feels so much better now

I have frog eyes (like this but a little higher up the tongue) and it’s the best 😍😍😍 I had to get it done 3 different times until it was finally straight tho. It really didn’t hurt me at all & I have a pretty low pain tolerance 😅 that’s the only reason I got it redone the second and even third time 🤣😭

The same day I did my snake eye piercing I ate just as normal I talked just the same. And it wasn't that bad. Ya a bit painful when it's being done but that's pretty much it. I've changed the ring in about a week r less i really don't remember and that was couple months ago and I still got my piercing today. 😜

Hi, I got my snake eyes piercing last year July. I never had a problem with it after it heal. But about 2 weeks now, my piercing started to hurt and swollen and red. Pus started to come out but now it stopped. It is just constantly hurting. Do you know what would cause this?? I use ice, wash it out with salt and warm water and also non alcohol listerine. The pain is getting a little annoying that it make me just want to take my piercing out as soon as it healed.

One question I have, is why does it sometimes hurt. Like the right side behind the ball hurts as if there a blister, it hurts when I eat sometimes but on that one side. I clean it regularly, and I’ve had it for a little more than month. I wanna say two months at most
Probably got pierced through a nerve. Your tongue has plenry of them, especially the tip of your tongue. Just one of the many downsides of getting this piercing. The only upsides it that it looks kinda cute but even then it’s not worth it.

I got mine done on the 16th of July and My piercer was real nice but he didn't use the clamps he just used his 2 fingers I got a video of it up on my channel... But he told me the same thing you did about after care.

There are a lot of piercers that will not perform this piercing because there are a lot of risks involved it does have to be done perfectly right though so make sure you go to a piercer that is extremely knowledgeable about this piercing

J JK same here. Had a lisp first but got rid of it just the clanking and it hurts my teeth sometimes bc my tongue pushes it into the back of my teeth

I had to get it done 3 different times until it was finally straight tho. It really didn’t hurt me at all & I have a pretty low pain tolerance 😅 that’s the only reason I got it redone the second and even third time 🤣😭

The same day I did my snake eye piercing I ate just as normal I talked just the same. And it wasn't that bad. Ya a bit painful when it's being done but that's pretty much it. I've changed the ring in about a week r less i really don't remember and that was couple months ago and I still got my piercing today. 😜

Hi, I got my snake eyes piercing last year July. I never had a problem with it after it heal. But about 2 weeks now, my piercing started to hurt and swollen and red. Pus started to come out but now it stopped. It is just constantly hurting. Do you know what would cause this?? I use ice, wash it out with salt and warm water and also non alcohol listerine. The pain is getting a little annoying that it make me just want to take my piercing out as soon as it healed.
He makes me feel comfortable about getting one now

i would advise you start with metal based jewelry. You can switch it after 8 weeks

One question I have, is why does it sometimes hurt. Like the right side behind the ball hurts as if there a blister, it hurts when I eat sometimes but on that one side. I clean it regularly, and I’ve had it for a little more than month. I wanna say two months at most
Probably got pierced through a nerve. Your tongue has plenry of them, especially the tip of your tongue. Just one of the many downsides of getting this piercing. The only upsides it that it looks kinda cute but even then it’s not worth it.

I got mine done on the 16th of July and My piercer was real nice but he didn't use the clamps he just used his 2 fingers I got a video of it up on my channel... But he told me the same thing you did about after care.

There are a lot of piercers that will not perform this piercing because there are a lot of risks involved it does have to be done perfectly right though so make sure you go to a piercer that is extremely knowledgeable about this piercing
