you can move on to later years even if you have backlogs
you need to see your college handbook, you need like 10 credits minimum or smth like that to pass it
makeup exam is when you miss the see because u werent well/other reason
if you write the exam and fail, that is called backlog
and you clear that in summer/supplementary semester
