I'm 73 years old and have been an Instructor or Teacher most of my life. This is one of the best instructional videos on just about anything I have viewed. I wish all videos were as good. Thanks
I just found a Razor E200 scooter at our Landfill Transfer Station's swap shack for free. It doesn't seem to have any power. I searched online and came across your videos. Very informative step by step troubleshooting with easy to understand terminology. Looking forward to my first attempt at diagnosis the scooter treasure. It didn't have a charger so I may start by attempting to charge the batteries like you described. Thank you.

*Came in today and my friend and I both rode **Latest.Bike** Scooter around for about an hour. Was lots of fun and didn't drain the battery much at all!*
WOW!!! When I watch a video and feel that it was a good informative video I will almost always give it a thumbs up, but to be honest have never taken the time to leave any kind of comment, but this video is BY FAR the most informative well put together video on fixing something that I have EVER come across here on TH-cam! You did an absolutely amazing job explaining in detail on how to check, fix, repair or if need be how to replace anything and everything on this Razor E200. Really really good job! I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to checking out what other videos you have posted. Clearly you know how to fix probably anything and if you don’t know how to do it you clearly stated on here you do the research and figure it out before passing the info on to us. I love that!
Thanks this was a BIG HELP! ...with the electrical tape tip... I used a 6.3m spade connector and it seems a little small to crimp...so i did the best i could and used a little electrical tape just to be safe!! I hope this works! Thanks again!!
Did you spin the rear wheel first? These have a Soft Start that requires the scooter start rolling forward manually, then the motor kicks in. The first models threw kids off, ran into walls, etc. So they changed it to only activate once it's rolling. Many don't know about that.
When you pull the handbrake the circuit opens (which stops the motor). So, No; the plug either has to be connected, or you could jumper the leads to bypass the brake circuit.
I found 3 of these 100 150 200 Im going to fix em then give em to the kids. I actually was going to buy some from Walmart . I dodge that expense thanks a lot scooter guy.
Useful lesson hands down. Im most definitely saving this video for future references. For any battery testing/electrical..,! Thx! 《Great for a resource to help son(s) , some friends & possibly my forgetfulness associated with short attention span at times. 》 poa... only because i like to get str8 to it.. vid was even better at 1.75× speed! "respectfully" and only for an fyi for any1 w/adhd.
I'm probably late to the party, my model requires some speed before it powers by motor. Guess it saves getting thrown off the back from dead stop. Not sure this model's features
I bought a used scooter and it take 2 12v batteries. It seems to drain the battery very quickly. I bought the 2 batteries on fb she says they are new. I just go down hill at my job parking lot just to clear my mind. I let gravity do all the work yet I can see the battery dies fast less then 5mins give or take again going down hill. What could a common problem be? The batteries?
How low a voltage will the scooter run on? I have an electric dirt bike which the batteries tested slightly low (about 11.4V), and it would not run at all (even after charging all night) until I replaced the battery. Now I have this 24V Razor scooter that won’t run, and equally the batteries test around 11.4V (even after charging). All switches, motor, and breaker test good. And the voltage drops about 0.5V when you press the trigger, but no voltage is going to the motor. And I have replaced the power unit with a brand new one. I know the only thing left is the batteries, but I would like to know for sure if there is a minimum voltage the unit will run on? (I hate to just “shotgun” troubleshoot things) 🤨
Hey im just a kid and i dont know what of good battery i should get for my e100 cause well im trying to repair and im makeing progress but can you work on a e100 if you find one and if you do get a new battery can you put it in the links below thankyou
Do you think changing the battery to different one to last long and more miles on a full charge is possible? Like lithium battery? If yes can you do a video to show what is needed? Or just directions please
just installed new batteries on an e300s and let them charge for 16 hours before use since they were completely dead when they arrived..what happens now is the scooter runs but 10 seconds later it cuts off...hitting reset button works but it still cuts of after riding for 10 seconds...thought it was weight issue but im 185lbs and its rated for 220lbs..power button works and lights up charger seems fine..reset button works so im stumped..watched another video where the guy said it could be the batteries not pushing enough volts since his scooter was doing the same thing as mine...bought batteries from amazon..12volt 9 amp Weize battery...could the new batteries just be faulty..please advise..excellent video too
why did someone wire a red and yellow wire together on the speed controller and cut off the wires from the twist throttle to the speed controller on my daughters e300 razor scooter. I tried to wire it up yellow to yellow and red to red but it won't go. The only way it goes if I wire the red and yellow on the speed controller together. Can up help me out.
Will the batteries charge if the controller isn't working? Will it run if it's plugged to the wall? Mine doesn't charge and idk if that's the reason it won't run so I plugged it and twisted the handle slowly till I had twisted it all the way and it didn't move. Help!!! I don't want to their it away or spend allot to fix it otherwise not worth it but yeah mine only turns while it's plugged
The scooter can run a longer time with two 12 volt 9 ah or higer batteries. So you can go for like 35 ah or 100 ah? Or ir is too much power for the scooter?
Good video, BUT LOL the piece you soldered to the wire is a f2 to f2 terminal connector. I guess you can solder to it like that, but it is made to change the f2 terminal that was on the battery to an f1 if your wiring was f1 instead of f2. F1 is smaller than f2. Smaller batteries usually have the f1, bigger 12ah or higher have the f2, wider ones.
i have been using razor scooters for a long time now almost 3 years and i find the best one for older people is the e300 its also faster and holds more weight but i like to make mine custom with some spray paint and new throttle and key start and an led battery life light so i know when my battery is dieing.
@@JRobling was just watching a vid on ' ghost reading ' where it will show 24 volts but no load , cold cranking power. I'm thinking this is the issue. They read good but actually are not.
Yes, the front tire has a built-in amp-govenor to protect the batteries from those kinds of scenarios, if the front tire deflates its letting you know that it's fully charged...I hope this helps, I once owned and ran my own electrical scootor/bike repair shop, before liability lawsuits, and complaints from disgruntled customers had me shut down...I now focuse my vastly superior electrical knowledge, and know how on rewiring log cabins at discount prices, with no warranty's and customers must agree to not sue me for any unforseen, and unfortunate natural electrical fires which I have no control over...Im also a life coach...
Do you have to charge for 12 hours in a row? I bought one used yesterday and charged if for 9 hours, but I was weary of leaving it on charge overnight. Do I need to charge for another 12 hours or just another 3 or so?
Hey bud! Yes initially the first charge you want to charge for at least 12 to 24 hours but it will not hurt the scooter if you leave it plugged in, the charger has a built in overcharge protection on it so you are good to go on that, hope that helps
My scooter turns on but when I pull the throttle it doesn’t make a clicking sound but when I plug in the charger then I pull the throttle it clicks so is it the battery or the controller
I got new batteries, I tested the motor and it goes when I connect it to batteries, I got a new throttle and new controller. Still nothing. It makes like a clicking sound(I think in the controller new and old) when I press the throttle.
One question. Why does my battery have a Fuse ? a black little box with a fuse inside. Razor Pocket Mod 7Ah battery with a wire that connects to a black box with fuse in it. well two wires that has a fuse box connect to the wires. and the other two wires go to the Battery connector or what u call it. So 4 wires total from those Two 12volts battery. Why do some scooters have the fuse?
There are a few differences between the e100-e300. e100 require speed before the motor kicks in and the other dont so the circuit board is different, the brakes for the e100 are for the front and the e200 and 300 are for the rear so the set up is different there, e100-e300 have different wheel types, but the battery is the same for all types
Wow good presentation step by step. but but Why do u have to take the white little box off the old harness or wires. you're just transfering the Wires. you're making it look complicated by taking off the white small box thingy.
Love the part where he "gets the batteries out" and presto they are out....but in reality it is worse than towing a battleship with a raft to get out...
the problem with these is if u have to replace the expensive batteries you may as well toss it in trash because ...these have little to no value...they sell for 20-30$ used in good working cond in my area and 2 batts cost about 40$...so dumping 40$ into an item thats worth at most 30$ doesnt make sense.

Voltage does not guarantee life, If a battery is weak it can still show 12v but can't hold load.
