    LYRICS:
    Brother-
Now we must seek the light
    Want you to believe
    Get off your knees
For it is time for us to fight
    The numbers
    As we plunder
    Inexorable heights
    Each drop is a seed
    As you bleed
Whatever gets you thru the night
    Look for the evidence
    Forget the etiquette
I like to know where I’m going
    Slip thru the trees
    An invisible breeze
    I am perpetual motion
    Now we shall see
    What it will be
And if the people are buying
    Look for the evidence
    Forget the etiquette
    I’m coming home
    Lover-
    Your sleepy eyes
    They watch over me
    Effortlessly
    As the numbers synchronize
    But I know
    Misbehavior
And I know what I like
    I’m copping a feel
    As I reveal
    My surreptitious appetite
    Look for the feminine
    She is the medicine
I like to know where I’m going
    Slip into the stream
    You are the dream
I am the river that’s flowing
    Now we shall see
    What it will be
And if the people are crying
    Look for the evidence
    Forget the etiquette
    I’m coming home

Jyja is pure, distilled voodoo blues. Best track on the album. Drips with sexy menace.

Who else makes an album like this decades into their career?

The Whigs are truly artist, especially Greg Dulli. You know how so many mainstream or HUGE bands get boring as they age or as the bank account swells? The Whigs or Dulli never had that. He is always experimenting and breaking new ground. Crawling around at night beneath the neon lights, fueled on cigarettes and the promise of lust to come. Never stop Whigs. Never stop.

That chunky bass is awesome. Dulli still has one of the best voices around, and this really shows that off.

Takes me back to the late 90s when '1965' was released. Great job!

Maybe because some of their past tracks were recorded there...but this song in particular makes me miss Memphis for some reason. This one of the most 'Afghan Whigs' songs they have recorded.

Great modern sound. It’s good to see them doing their thing still. I only discovered this band 2019

You want creative, hot music, sultry vocals and voodoo-like atmosphere, just go to the Afghan Whigs and dig in. Great band.

Are we sure Lanegan guests on this track? He's inaudible if so, anyone let me know if I'm missing something

Dulli touched on this during the 'Behind The Scenes' Instagram stories leading up to the album's release. Lanegan's track is very low in the mix, it's vibey menace more than an actual vocals. If you remove it in studio, it's like the bottom literally drops out of the track.

Yes . . .there is an interview by Kyle Meredith talking to Greg and he confirms this and The Getaway. Great interview if you all are interested. I learned lots.
