What a transformation!! If you want to see more, check out the new Yard Geek video!! 👉🏻 th-cam.com/video/GAaRXUauEpU/w-d-xo.html Have a great weekend everyone!
I binge watched your videos last year while dealing with anxiety and terrible reflux. They helped me at night when my anxiety hit hard. Going into recovery my husband bout me a new vehicle a truck I called Ruby, thank you for your videos.
Hey dude, you should use a spray and rinse sealant after you do the contact wash. It will make drying the car easier and add some satisfying water beading!
Hello there Detail Geek. It is always a pleasure seeing you and watching your awesome videos 📸📷. You go way beyond of what is expected of you. And I really admire you for that. You always bring these vehicles to life every time. Your hard work and dedication is very outstanding 👍💪 and again thank you so very much
I live in the Chicago suburbs so I know that when the snow starts to melt it only takes about 5 - 10 minutes for a clean vehicle (especially a white or black one which shows the dirt so much easier) to look like that on the outside. It doesn’t matter how well the plows plowed and salted the roads. I think if I ever buy another vehicle I’ll buy a silver or gray one. They get just as dirty but it doesn’t show up as much.
The Dodge Charger really got cleaned up well. It seemed like more than 9 hours, but that must have been from seeing the interior go from disaster to clean and neat. There were a lot of stains inside, but you got them out with your process and skills. The paint looked great after the clay bar and the application of the sealer. I am really loving the Yard Geek series as much as our friends on this channel seem to. You're really creating some amazing content there too. Have a great weekend Mitch. 💜
You'd know better than me, but I've found the cheap carpet like that found in Kias and such are actually pretty good at repelling dirt and hold up pretty well. Kid spilled an entire smoothie that had then dried in the carpet for weeks. Some brushing, folex cleaner and an extractor later, it looks and smells good as new.
A good wash + a good vacuuming = the vehicle is already 90% better. Awesome job, Mitch! I love the wheel cleaner and brush combo. The wheels on my Dad's truck are almost brand new... Even three days later!
Yup. For a quick glow up, here is what I do: give the exterior a quick rinse with the pressure washer. Clean the wheels nicely. Clean the glass meticulously, inside and out. Give the interior surfaces that the driver touches a once over with a damp microfiber. Declutter the car and vacuum the obvious areas. This gives about 75% of the impression of a full detail with about 10-15% of the effort.
@ramanshah7627 That's a great idea. Personally, I'd go bout 20 and give em a full wash so dirt doesn't scratch while drying. Air nozzles go a long ways too.
@@MatthewAngell-tw9ez Yeah that's a great idea as long as I know I have the car for long enough. I don't detail cars on a professional basis, just for myself and loved ones as a chore/hobby. Sometimes, esp on a loved one's car that I only have for a few hours at a time, it's easy to get into a perfectionistic rabbit hole on the exterior and run out of time before touching the interior at all. Even without the super laborious "true exterior detailing" steps like clay bar/protectant/wax, my washes have a way of dragging out on me. Along with a full wash, some other items I value that are just beyond the scope of this list are shampooing/extracting the floor mats and going farther with the interior wipedown, starting with the dash and console. Of course, like doing a full wash which requires setting up the suds, shampooing floor mats adds to the pieces of equipment and supplies to set up and take down. You actually prompted me to start writing down a handful of standardized car care routines, so that I can start to get a better grip on how long each one takes and fit the work to match the time. Hopefully, with standardization and practice, I will get faster as well. I appreciate that aspect of this discussion!

We got about 3 inches of snow today and the roads are wet and sloppy still, we've also had a cold snap lately with temperatures in the teens and low 20s not counting wind chill, I'm hoping to get my car washed Wednesday
I had some free time this week so I watched your Top 10 Dirtiest Vehicles playlist. I understand now why you needed the studio, as your old garage looked too small to clean vehicles comfortably. It was also interesting hearing you more confident with your commentary on the newer vehicles on the list Compared to those 10 however, this one wasn't too bad. You didn't have a ton of garbage and you didn't have to take the seats out
I’m curious about your comment regarding Dodge and Chrysler vehicles generally cleaning up well while other manufacturers, not so much. What have you found to be the makes that just don’t clean up well due to the quality of materials or other factors? Not that I’d base my next buy on how well it cleans, but it feels like it could be a marker of quality overall, as well!
Rolling the windows down a little to clean them is a great tip. It seems such an obvious thing after hearing it, but I don't think I'd ever think of it.
I remember my Dad renting a Chevy Cruze in 2012 and 13. We used to like them when they were new, it had some nice features like Sirius or XM Satilite Radio. But overall reliability is what turns me away from purchasing one. I'd still rather drive the Chevy than Dodge.
I was in buffalo a few weeks ago for the bills game and saw a few canada license plates in the parking lot. Their cars look like they been through hell and back. Almost each car looked like this car. I was like man that detail geek guy never going outta business😂😂😂
Last weekend I drove from Rochester to Lockport, Lockport to Williamsville, back to Lockport, then back to Rochester. My black car had never looked more disgusting than it did after that day. 😂
@wendybradley1837 yes actually, 2 of them said Ontario. There was another Canadian plate also. It had the Canadian flag on the corner. That one was filthy too. But I do remember Ontario being on one of the plates. I don't know much about where cities are located in Canada but I just assumed all the roads were shitty since it's the winter time lol
Excellent job Mitch. I have a question, what is the green putty thing you were cleaning the panels with and can it be used on household things like kitchen cupboard doors?❤❤
Good luck on the Avenger project, Mitch (also known as "The Detail Geek"). Give this vehicle a deep clean it never saw coming. Great transformation job.
@@SpeedDudeGTX its not premature. In the salt belt this is totally normal. My 2017 looked like that. Cars don't last long here, nor do they drop in value because of some brown lol. I'm in New England which is a lot worse than his part
@nicholaswicks3077 And Dodge and Chrysler is no exception. Don't matter if it's Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram/Fiat, they fall and rust apart more than anything. I've already seen 4th gen Rams (some of which weren't even 10 years old) that already developed premature rust. A truck this modern should NOT rust this early. Especially way up North too.
