Wow it's been 10 years since he was a manager the 2012 season... Wow

A really whacked year. Kudos to Valentine for participating.

As much of a mess the Bobby V season was, if was the perfect distraction and transition between the chicken and beer end of season collapse and the John Farrell world series.
They needed a season to get rid of all those people that got traded to the dodgers, and gave everyone something to rally against.

As a Mets fan I love Bobby V but he was a disaster for the Sox.

As a Mets fan I was excited for him to manage again, but I feel bad for how his players on purposely lost to get him fired. I was even at a Red Sox-Twins game and the fans booed him every time he came out of the dugout. When he got fired I knew that was his last opportunity to manage again

I haven't forgiven Henry and Warner for letting Tito go, everyone in this region loved him.

The 2011 team's players didn't love him. That is why he left.

Bobby Valentine is up there with Urban Meyer as some of the worst single season experiences ever.

I’m re-watching this, and while Valentine made mistakes when he came to the Sox, one thing is clear: it was a doomed situation before spring training even started. Based on the reactions and drama between Pedroia, Youkilis, and the pitchers, it just was not gonna go well.

Bobby was great with the Mets. No idea what happened in Boston

Look at the team he had with the Mets. He walked into a very tough situation in Boston. The players didn't receive him well, and the fans definitely didn't. I saw a disaster right away.

He was brought in to show them how much they fucked up. The players hated it, but it straightened them out for Farrell.

Youkilis hated being in Boston. There is an article where his uncle details how much he hated it and how he always wanted to be a Yankee.

That’s bullshit and anyone with half a brain knows it. If he hates Boston so much why was he so emotional after he was traded? Why does he currently live in Boston? Why is he working as an announcer for NESN this season?

It is so terrible what the pitchers did to Kevin Youkilis. That would have effected anybody this side of Kobe Bryant.

Boston journalists are always out of touch with reality. Chicken and beer. So what. They don’t understand baseball, they have to come up with something.

    • @SwordHMX

Francona made it clear that they stopped listening. They were indisputably apathetic and undisciplined. Perhaps YOU don't understand.
