k so ... this cat knows just about everything about everything relating to anything mechanical in all his videos. . but knows how to operate them as well.. jesus.. my hats off to you sir
Interesting, helpful and informative. It's always good to know more of other folks' working conditions; and yours is many times removed from what mine was before I retired from the classroom! I was wondering if the camera's mike gave a fair indication of cab noise or if you have to use muffs to keep your head from ringing after a day's work? Cheers, Peter, Bay of Islands, NZ.
PAmining - thank you very much for these outstanding videos. I am from Schuylkill County originally and still have a huge interest in the coal industry. Your own career - are you a miner or equipment operator yourself?
That wasn't a Cat, that was a Euclid R-75 you saw. The R-75/85 and the 33-11 are close in size. That yellow R-75 you saw in the video is actually smaller because it has undersized tires and a low-profile box
In manual mode you can move the shifter as the trucks RPM's increase to go into a higher gear range. If you put the shifter in Drive mode, then the truck just shifts automatically, just like a modern car.
That's a nice truck to go out for picnic! Hehehe May I ask you as an American: why are your some years and more older US equipment mostly in bad shape ( painture, railings, oil leaks, etc )? No money for washing, cleaning ( outside and inside the cab ), repaint or is that a cultural thing?

I love that sound! Long live the two strokes!
Excellent engine noises! Sounds like a 16V92 to my ears
SpeakerPolice You got it!
+PAmining Yay, my ears work well! The two-stroke Detroits and their larger counterparts the EMDs are my favorite engines.
Came here thinking these used the EMD 645 in them.
that brings back memories. spent a lot of years in in that same truck
Fantastic job as per usual love your videos
Great video! I enjoy how thorough you cover the machines in each video, thanks!
Thank you! And yes, most of my fans do enjoy that.
Awesome video, the Engine sounds Good!!! I love those big Mining Trucks!!!!
Most of the old 33/11s are gone now.Good clip of the interior and driving a 33/11.

That was freakin awesome
The retarder acts as a brake, slows the truck down and prevents the engine from over revving when going down a steep grade. All big trucks have one.
True Green Machine.
Pretty clean truck on the inside for it being 30 years old
Yes
i used to drive thes on opencast qaurry work great powefull machines start with compressed air all when i was 20 years old great
did that say tilcon on the door?..used to live near one of there plants in CT.
Do you have a clutch you work with the powershift transmission?
16V-92TA
excellent video Justin loved it thanks
nice video
Justin, I can tell that has a Detroit diesel in it 16v71?or are these 92 series?
That's a 16V-92T. Thanks!
33-11 has a 16V-92TA Detroit

Do you move the shifter through the range manually or just select a gear and transmission shifts automatically?
In manual mode you can move the shifter as the trucks RPM's increase to go into a higher gear range. If you put the shifter in Drive mode, then the truck just shifts automatically, just like a modern car.
What model of screaming Jimmy does that truck have Justin?
Really cool vid
Do you have your foot on the throttle when you dump the load?
Yeah and trust me, they get hot inside the cab!
Sorry if that sounded stupid... How much throttle do you give it?
this is so cool
Boy them engines sound mean and tuff
used to service these in the steel works
That's a nice truck to go out for picnic! Hehehe

I think a lot of companies focus more on utilizing the equipment ot make money rather thank trying to always make it look pretty.
Most operators take pride in their equipment and would love to keep them nice and clean but that's all most impossible in the mine.
what engine does it have?? is it a 12V92 it sure sounds like one.
12v71 is what the power plant is I worked on these for many years overall a good truck but didn't have the braking power of the cat!
Nice video! =)
Close, 16V-92TA
Considering the speed, is it boring to drive one of these trucks?
The engine sounds very similar to the Leyland L60 engine that was fitted into the British Chieftain main battle tanks.
The speedo goes up to 80 mph?!? How fast do they go safely?
Is it GM powered
have you got any videos of the the 33-15's ?
No sorry, not as of the moment
16V71?
Full throttle...pedal right to the floor; same with climbing a grade with a full load.
Phew air con :) I could operate that in the Queensland coalfields!
fire tha roadgrader man
so is a retarder a engine break?...also what a monster@1!!
No it's an automatic powershift transmission
How big is that cat dump in the video compared to this old girl?
terex 33-11D
Umm yeah, otherwise it won't have any power to raise the box
No this is a C model not a D
It could never reach 80mph. The fastest this truck could go would be around 45mph in 5th gear
cool but old very old
This truck will not meet the California smog requirements they will force you to update your emissions
Oh yeah, driving truck is always boring
what is the retarder you mentioned? as in, what does it do?
The retarder acts as a brake, slows the truck down and prevents the engine from over revving when going down a steep grade. All big trucks have one.
