When we sailed to Alaska on Princess, my sister requesting gluten free meals. Every night in the dining room, the head waiter would bring her a special menu for the following day so she could make her choices. Everyone thought she must be a celebrity. She said the food was amazing. We were surprised she was the only one. Perhaps people don't know Princess will do this.
All cruise lines will do that and you are correct so many people are not aware. We skipped the dining room this time but usually we don't. I ran in to many GF people on the ship who had no idea how to handle food on the ship. I will be doing what I can to inform going forward. I am so glad your sister had a great experience! Hugs!

But I’m glad because it shows where the confusion lies and the room for improvement.
Right! It was SO COLD and windy! We figured out the muster issue... we were given an "upgrade" by Princess about a week before our sailing and they never updated our app or info on board so we were listed in another cabin. There is a lot of confusion on Muster station locations for sure! Hugs!

I like to eat at the main dining room for lunch on embarkation day. Most people don't realize it's open. It's very good.
It is open for lunch on sea days, too!
Maybe that's why NCL has decided to go back to the old Muster drill to eliminate any confusion.
I sail on the escape in December
We finally sorted out what the problem was. About a week before our sailing Princess sent us an upgrade. We did not request it they just did it. They did not update ALL our information so our Internet plan was a mess, the app had us in the wrong cabin. Our cabin showed our names but the muster showed us in the other cabin. None of it was ever sorted out prior or during our sailing. We had to login to the internet with our previously assigned cabin and had to muster for that cabin along with our current cabin. Quite the mess but we assumed it is because the ship is newly in port and is still working out kinks.
In regards to NCL muster I think it is because the e-muster just doesn't feel as safe as the old version. Maybe because it is so fast and easy people do not remember where their muster station is an hour later. That said, they could do an abridged version of the classic muster. The sitting out in the heat on an open deck or in the rain or cold or even in a jam packed theater while waiting for those who just don't know or don't care to arrive... that is not the solution either. I don't know what the solution is but I will always willingly attend muster. Hugs! Happy cruising!
There was a Points Guy article that said e-muster takes more crew members than traditional muster, but the Coast Guard does not have a preference as long as it's done. So there is some inference that NCL went back to traditional muster as a cost savings measure to not tie up crew members.

Buddy is doing so well, I am so happy with his progress with everyone! I just don't know how we got so lucky with another great dog. I hope you get to try Princess soon. It is a more relaxed cruise but that is sometimes really nice. The excursions on this sailing were fantastic! Maybe you can entice him more with that! :) I am going to try and post a bit faster **try** so we are done with the two cruise vlog series before we sail Panorama! Hugs!!

We had an upgrade on Sky and had no issues but the upgrade happened months before our sailing. This upgrade happened about a week before. It was so confusing but now we know it can happen. Rob said the pizza is very good! The food in general is quite good. The coffee is very good. Sky had more daily activities than Ruby so I hope Regal has more to do, there was a lot of down time - no complaints just an fyi! Hugs my friend! Happy Cruising!
When I went on ruby princess i used the tv in our room to watch the muster video and then checked in at my station and they scanned my medallion.
Yes, we had our medallion scanned many times. We have sailed Princess so we knew how to muster. The issue was with Princess, they had us in the wrong cabin in the ships Manifest.
Fun! We were in Galveston that weekend. lol. Nice cabin. We miss cruising. Love the cruising out of the bay. We were on the beach when we saw the ships left. Have fun. Love the idea days. Can't wait. XOXO

Hi Favor & Robert we were due to sail on Sky Princess today on the same route but had to cancel a few days ago as my husband has to have emergency surgery. Luckily we found out before we flew out to the USA at least I can watch your vlogs and see if we want to re-book that route at a later date, we had been to Cozumel before but the other ports would have been new to us. Looking forward to your camping vlogs later this year when the weather gets better.
I'm so sorry you had to cancel your cruise. I hope your husband is doing well. It is so much better to find out before you leave home. It was a fun sailing, Sky Princess is a great ship, we do have vlogs on her. Ruby is nice but Sky is better for sure. We did some really fun and enjoyable excursions, I have them listed in the description box if you want to see them in advance of the vlogs. I have been to Cozumel many times but this excursion was one of the best we have done there for sure! Roatan is worth a visit and more than once. We really enjoy the beach there. You can do what we did or take a less expensive excursion to the beach and have an amazing day - beautiful beach and fantastic snorkeling! Costa Maya is great for the ruins! Right! lol! I was so offended at that letter! haha! They were great about it and marked us as having attended. It all started with the upgrade from Princess, we were shown in two cabins on the ship. I so wanted you there to dance with me! Always more fun when you're there! Hugs my friend!!

I am so happy to come across this video! My family and I will be sailing on Ruby Princess on March 26 out of Galveston so we will get to experience this cruise for ourselves soon. Can you explain how the drink package out of Galveston works on Princess? I know on Carnival it is not in use on the first day so I was curious to see how it works on Princess. Looking forward to more videos!
Hi! Glad you found us! You are going to have a great cruise! The drink package will work the same on Ruby as it does for Carnival. The state of Texas has specific laws from the TABC so no matter what line you are sailing from Galveston you will have the same rules. Each line may handle it a bit differently but it is the same scenario: Your drink package will not be in place until the second day and you will have a limited drink menu until he next day. We do not drink alcohol so there may be a few more nuances that I have not mentioned but this is typical scenario. Depending on your family size in Roatan I cannot recommend more the Private over water Bungalows. GREAT spot for families. I think it could accommodate 4-6 people. We LOVED it. The vlog will be up this coming week but it sells out very fast so you might check it out now if you don't already have plans in place. I am trying to let people know about them because in all our visits to Roatan we had never heard of them! Happy Cruising! Hugs!

WAit. So they set sail before everyone was checked off on muster? Dang. On Royal, they do not move until everyone is accounted for and if someone doesn’t then they are removed from the ship. 😳
Hi. Royal will sail, too. They are only required to have a certain percentage of passengers complete muster to sail a AND none of the lines remove passengers for failure to attend muster but they do have those who skipped or missed attend after the ship has sailed. Thank you for watching!

All things considered, do you prefer Princess line over Carnival? Trying to compare the two is pretty tough.
Yes, comparing the two is tough. I would more compare Princess to Royal. Carnival is an entirely different experience to Princess and Royal. I would more compare Norwegian to Carnival. Currently I prefer Royal ( their mega ships) over all of them. That said I really enjoy the Fun Squad on a Carnival cruise, the small group entertainment options are really good on Carnival and I do miss them on Princess. How's that? :) A little insight. Hey Favor. Question with the Galveston parking garage you used. I booked it for the Prima for December 2023 and the port says 12:00 for the garage arrival. Do y’all arrive before then and the gates let you in? Just don’t want to show up too early and not be able to get in the garage
Hi there. The arrival time is contingent on when the garage empties from the previous sailing. We do arrive earlier than noon for Carnival/Princess but the garages are used to these ships and know their approximate disembark time. Prima may be later because they do not yet know how long disembarkation will take or even when it will begin. As the date approaches you may call and see if you can arrive earlier. If you do arrive early they will turn you away to come back later, we have had that happen. We usually arrive around 10:00-10:30. Most ships have fully disembarked by then and they let us in. If they turn you away we usually drive around a bit and watch the ship to see when people stop coming out in droves and try again to enter the garage. I would suggest you never try to arrive before 10:00AM. Have so much fun on Prima! We are trying to get her booked but likely will not be able to fit her in to our work schedule while she is here. If you have not sailed NCL previously I will tell you to be prepared for delicious food and a lot of it and to arrive at any venue well before start time to ensure a seat! Happy Cruising!

We were on that sailing and parked very near where you guys were. I'm going again in a couple of weeks and already looking for another one after that. 🛳🛳🛳 Edit: I saw my wife and I at the sail away😀 Our cabin was "upgraded" also but we didn't have any muster problems.
