Free, cheap and make it yourself! My requirements exactly! Love the music, perfect for this video! Hard to beat beaver meat for bait. It has enough oil in it it doesn't completely freeze. I have had luck with muskrat meat too.
For sure! Lures can be complicated, but I've had luck with easy ones too. I just found one from someone here on You Tube that is super easy, just tainted meat and blue cheese salad dressing. Looking forward to giving it a try.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Tomas Killian I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Depends how you handle and store it. If it's kept in a sealed container and in cool dark climate, I would say it they wouldn't go bad for a few years. If you add skunk to it, that can definitley lose its potency over time (most commercial baits/lures with skunk will dull down in a year or so). These baits are homemade to save some money and be able to tinker with new scents. If you don't feel confident it is going to work, you don't have to worry about throwing away 10-20 bucks. Toss it and start fresh.
Thanks for this info i watched a few times , if you have time, i done exactly this but after a couple of weeks my bait has got a slight mould on the top is this normal/or still good to use thanks for the reply if you have time.
Mine never got any mold on the top of it, and I kept it over 2 years. I don't think it will be a problem. Either scrap it off and use it, or just mix it in and use it. Canine are used to eating meat woth a little mold on it. I would add a little more salt or sodium benzoate to persevere it a little better. And in the future add maybe a little more than you did this time. Hope that helps! Tight chains!
Salt would slow/halt the tainting process. You would not want to add salt at this stage. Later once you have reached the desired level of taint, you will add a preservative which can be salt, but there are also tasteless options out there like sodium bezoate.
I've read mixed opinions on using coyote meat as the base meat. Of course there a lot of great parts of a coyote that smell differently and will attract another coyote. For example the feet, anal gland, fur, urine, stomach contents, but most of these are not necessarily appealing to the the coyotes hunger and rather to territorial instincts or just plain curiosity. For the food based baits, I would stick to the meats that are tried and true. Beaver and muskrat were shown in this video, but really anything you have in the area that coyotes would typically eat also work great like deer, rabbit, mice, etc. I included a few of the books I've used to learn about bait making here under the "Trapping" list. www.amazon.com/shop/noblesavageoutdoors.
Noble Savage Outdoors thank you so much I am a beginner trapper so I need all the help I can get 😂 and thought when I get something I did not want to waste meat I was not gonna eat so though I’d try something with it and thanks for replying to a new comment on a older video that shows you like to help your viewers out and other people I will try this for my self and I subscribed so thanks hope to see more from you in the future god bless
Absolutely. That's why I started the channel in the first place, to share my ways of doing things, and help others. I completely understand what you mean by trying to use everything, I hate wasting stuff and save anything I think I can use. Glad you enjoy my stuff and thanks for the support. Good luck out there.
From the research I've done, you don't want to let the bait go so long that it starts to rot. It can still attract a canine, but will pull a lot more possums. It is better to just let it taint a little bit. The canines will still smell it just fine.

Hopefully we can bounce ideas off each other in the future.

How will this bait last till it is no good?

Great channel, I just found it last night.... Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the support. There's more coming soon.
Does anyone refrigrate your baits after they are cured
No salt?

Great video thanks for sharing buddy!! I just picked up your channel & can't wait to watch more cool stuff!!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it!
Can you use coyote meat

Nice! Just found your channel and subscribed
Thanks, the finished bait videos should be done very soon.
I recon if you can’t stand the smell of it , it’s got to be good , bait is ready , what dog don’t love rotten smelling meat ?
