The delay trick is great for thickening up the tone and giving it a double tracked feel/tone. Now I don't feel it's quite as necessary to always use dual amps.
How do i save my patches? When i transfer them over onto the preset lists they are fine. When i close it down and reopen the patches are gone again 😰 Just new to these pedals. Any help appreciated. Thank you x
I’m having trouble with moving patches to my HD500x it only lets me do it once example. I drag a patch to 1a. Then I drag another patch to 2a. But it goes to 1a again. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help
Jim Penz Hi Jim, Actually I think you can just drag and drop the bean patches into the HD500 Edit screen and they will load. I've heard of people doing that and it works. Send me a PM if you want.
Hi Glenn, my Vox Tonelab SE finally died and I'm need to buy a new unit ASAP because we have a gig on the 22nd. I run direct into the PA and play country and 80's rock, do you have a unit you would recommend? I will be downloading your patches for sure, awesome stuff!!!
Hmmm, I think either the HD500X or the GT-100 would be a good choice but you should at least try both to see how you like the GUI on each unit. Don't just take my word for it.
Hi Glenn, great videos on the Line 6 gear. I do have a question regarding patches. Im running a pod Hd Pro X for my home studio. I am looking into getting something like a Spider IV 120 or a Spider valve Mkii for jamming or gigging. With the Pod hd pro X Edit software , im wondering how you can go about using the same patches for the Hd Pro x and the Spider series. Or is there any Line 6 amp that will work with the Pod Hd Pro X patches. Thanks from Australia :-)
You'd probably want something that is a very flat response like a Friedman ASM 12 or something like that. The only I would it with a Spider would be to go into the FX return totally bypassing the preamp of the spider. You wouldn't want the HD Pro ruining into the Preamp of the spider.
ok cool. I was hoping that the patches I have built into the Pod pro X and the patches I have gotten from the Line 6 community could simply be dropped and dragged from the pod hd pro x edit to something like the Spider Iv edit. I have found some really cool tones that im stoked with but when I try and the drop / drag method its like the spider iv edit doesn't read it, or should I simply buy another pod hd pro or pro x just so I can use the same patches on each unit
Glenn, I downloaded your custom patches...They sound great on my computer but they don't when I play them through my amp...I'm using a DT50...I'm using a Les Paul with Zac Wylde pickups and a Strat with Lace Sensor pickups...I've tried them with the L6 Link and into the front of the amp...Any help and advice would be appreciated
Thank you very much. All you have to do is disable that quick delay in the amp block I have. Also you might try switching to Combo Front out mode, That gives you a global EQ that can help shape your sound. It's really hard to have the same patches that will sound good going direct and into an amp at the same time. That's why I had to develop different sets of patches for use with an amp.
hey Glenn, I have little bit problem here.. when I plug my pod hd500 via usb to my laptop as what you instructed at 2:53 , my laptop didn't recognized it. do you have any solution? I've tried alot of things, but my laptop still can't recognized the pod hd500. looking for your answer ;)
You have to have the driver installed on your laptop or it won't recognize the HD500. Go to Line 6 site and get the driver for your unit and operating system and install it. Then try hooking it up again after you have installed the driver. It should work then.
HI Glenn .. download some of your patches, metal riffs etc, am I doing something wrong because they don't sound right at all ... an example is the disturbed patch - it only had 3 effects on it .....im using the 4 cable method, im sure its my set up ..... I am dragging and dropping as per your tutorial and that works fine .... a bit stumped at the moment ... any advice.
Hi Mike Thank you. I think that's right on the disturbed patch. Not many effects. Are you saying the amp model is not on?? If that's the case then it means you need to update the POD because thes presets are using the last POD update 2.0 which added a couple more models. My disturbed patch may be using a new model that does not exist in your POD unless you are running the 2.0 firmware. Could this be the problem??
***** thanks for the reply Glenn much appreciated ....I'm running the HD500 - All firmware etc is up to date.... Should I expect the same sound as per your video?? the patches I downloaded seem to work, they just sound real trebly no "balls" to them if you know what I mean.... I'm running a blackstar 6L6 100w head and a Mesa Rectifier Cab ... happy to take this offline - my email is maxcimus69@bigpond.com thanks Mick ...
Glen, I am a worship leader and guitar player for contemporary gospel music. Do you have any patches from well known gospel guitar players such as Lincoln Brewster and other player of the same type music? Would love to download these patches if they exist on your site.
+Marc Cerrato Pretty much the same just different software. First thing is to install the drivers from boss onto your computer and then the Tone Studio software and then connect the ME-80.
I downloaded the zip files and it try's to open them with adobe and I don't no any other way to open your files to transfer them to the boss? So this is not so easy for me. I don't know what to do to open these files correctly?
+Marc Cerrato You first have to go to the Boss website and download and Install the ME-80 drivers and then the Tone Studio software. Then once that is done you can hook up the ME-80 and you Import the file that is in that zip file you downloaded.
Henri I'm sorry but I am not affiliated with Line6 in any way therefore I can't offer Line6 Tech Support. You would do much better by going straight to the Line6 Forums. There are many many knowledgeable people who can help you.
I'm using line 6 pod hd 400 , after following these steps and updating the firmware, driver, flash and puting patches from editor my line 6 has no sound anymore , my cables are new, my guitar is good when i play on a direct amp, help what should i do to my line 6
+Marc Cerrato OK then follow my directions!! in the Tone studio window you select "Import" and navigate to the ".tsl" file in the Zip file you downloaded and import it and that will load the patches into the Tone Studio. From there you can load them into the ME-80.
+Marc Cerrato OK good, now when you hook up your ME-80 and you see that your computer recognizes it, Then you open the Tone Studio software and it will see the ME-80. Then in the Tone studio window you select "Import" and navigate to the "tsl" file in the Zip file you downloaded and import it and that will load the patches into the Tone Studio. From there you can load them into the ME-80.
Thanks Glenn !! I'm loving my patches

Hi Glenn - Great Tones. I have a HD POD HD Bean and a HD500 floor. Can I use the patches for both devices?
Jim Penz Hi Jim, Actually I think you can just drag and drop the bean patches into the HD500 Edit screen and they will load. I've heard of people doing that and it works. Send me a PM if you want.

Hi. I have a question. If my DSP is full, what can I do to add more patches?
You would have to remove something to get more dsp back.

No for this unit you need something called the Line 6 Monkey. It's like an early version of the no Line 6 Updater.

Henri I'm sorry but I am not affiliated with Line6 in any way therefore I can't offer Line6 Tech Support. You would do much better by going straight to the Line6 Forums. There are many many knowledgeable people who can help you.
