I’m not a LN/manga reader, but right now You can’t help but feel bad for Ryu, especially after last season: right when she started developing feelings towards Bell, Syr comes out and asks her: “You don’t mind if I ask him out, right?” I’m not gonna lie, I perfectly know this is just the beginning of the season and surely there’s something more to it than what appears at a surface level, but RIGHT NOW it feels like kind of a “low blow” from Syr: she knows full well that Ryu is falling (has fallen) in love with Bell, (she even listened to their conversation after the party) but she also knows that she’s got Ryu in the palm of her hand, because she saved her and gave her a place to where she could belong after what happened to her family… Ryu is extremely loyal, has a strong sense of duty and because of her rectitude and righteousness, she can’t go against Syr, even if it means to sacrifice the love of her life to repay this “debt”… But to me it wouldn’t feel right… It’s as if I’m blackmailing someone, then we fall in love with the same person and I tell him: “You know, I really like her, you don’t mind if I ask her out, right?” Fully knowing that this guy can’t do nothing to stop me, because I’m blackmailing him… Well, you can’t “ask permission” as Syr says, to someone that, for whatever reason, can’t absolutely do nothing to deny that permission, you are just warning them that you’re making your move, knowing that they can’t stop you… Now, obviously Syr cares about Ryu, and isn’t blackmailing her, this is more of a “moral blackmail” to which Ryu “condemned” herself, but still… Moreover, when Ryu was about to answer, Syr immediately cut her off, putting even more pressure on her… That was sly from her, almost devious… She knew exactly what she was doing… To be fair we knew Syr’s feelings since ep.1, while Ryu’s have just “blossomed”, so it’s only understandable that Ryu is also overwhelmed (as we saw) by these feelings and doesn’t know how to control them, also because of her more introvert nature, while Syr has always been more open about it… I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I hope that a time comes when Ryu understands how precious those feelings are to her and her attitude towards Syr changes to somewhat like: “You are my best friend, you saved my life and I will ALWAYS be grateful for that, that said… there are some things I just can’t give up on, even if it means challenging you, and that’s the main one…” Even if she doesn’t “win” I wish for her not to be slave of her “moral debt” anymore I’ve seen too many anime characters withdraw from a “romantic fight” just because they considered it a “betrayal” towards their rival, or because they felt like they were indebted to them, because the other girl was like “an older sister” and “It wouldn’t feel right” and things like that… I’m also curious why Syr chose this moment to “attack”… Maybe because she perceived Ryu as a real treat? (even if Bell was surrounded by girls way before that) As the season progresses surely we will know more about it… I can’t wait to see where this is going, but I think I’ll remain steadily on Ryu’s boat anyway😂😍 I was convinced that Freya simply decided to transform into Syr depending on the occasion, but apparently things are a bit more complicated… Maybe Syr is an “aspect” of Freya’s personality that, for whatever reason, split up from her and is able to act somewhat independently, but is still chained to the Goddess… I don’t know… P.S. Poor Bell, in the “eye of the storm” just because he attracted the attention of the wrong people…😂 Literally, he’s got 2 options: 1) Go out with Syr=> the Freya Familia is pissed off and wants to kill him 2) Refuse to go out with Syr=> The Freya Familia is (possibly even more) pissed off and wants to kill him… That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I call “ A LOSE/LOSE SITUATION” My man has no way out of this, I feel so so sorry for him…

Hogni is considered the greatest swordsman, and Hedin's magic rivals Riveria of the Loki Familia. The Gulliver brothers are all level 5, but with such coordination they can go up against any level 6 together.

Don’t get me wrong, Syr was nice to confront Ryu about Bell, but that one sentence: “I wanted to ask your permission” really pissed me off… Syr’s got a “psychological advantage” over Ryu, who sadly, still feels like she’s in her debt, so doesn’t want to “betray her” by falling in love with the same person (I wrote a larger comment about it down here) But I tell you what… Syr knows she’s got the upper hand on Ryu and that’s what makes me angry: you can ask permission if you are on an equal level with the other person, that is perfectly fine, very nice, even admirable, it’s just the right thing to do… But if you’re not, if you got some form of advantage over the other, your “asking permission” doesn’t sound so admirable, THE OPPOSITE: it just makes you sound arrogant, an hypocrite even… Why, you ask? Easy because these two people (here Ryu and Syr) are not on even ground… I know it’s a little extreme, but as an example, Would a master/owner ever ask his slave for permission to do something? No, because he’s got the upper hand… If I were in Ryu’s place and my friend, (who has got some form of advantage over me) told me the same things Syr told her, in the same situation, Would I think he is being considerate? Honestly, NO… I would think he’s just being an absolute d*ckhead, who wants to rub in my face that he’s basically free to act, while I’m not… It was this and also the fact that Syr essentially “cornered” Ryu, without giving her an actual chance to answer properly… If she GENUINELY cared about Ryu’s feelings, seeing her panicking, she could have said something like: “It’s okay Ryu, don’t worry, take your time, I just want to know what your feelings are…” Did she do it? NO, she literally took 1 second and said: “I like him too…” Demonstrating that she had really clear in her mind what she wanted to say and didn’t really care about Ryu’s feelings, she only cared about her own and wanted to state them to a “rival” From that point on, hearing those words, considering her pure and loyal heart. Ryu was left completely defenseless, and all the nice words after became just a friendly façade, or at least that’s how I feel about all of this… You’re more than welcome to agree or disagree🤗
