Fun moth fact: Cryptoses Moths are found almost exclusively in the fur of Sloths, and their entire lifecycle relies on a symbiotic relationship with Sloths, their dung, and the algae which grows in their fur.
People tend to just call Cryptoses Moths ‘Sloth Moths’ sometimes because they’re found pretty much entirely in the fur or on the dung of Sloths.

@@verstrahlt1907 moths are creatures born from dark, neglected, and deteriorating corners. All they know is dust and filth and shadow. So when they see light they cling to it, throw there sad, cramped worlds behind and fly towards something bigger, better, pure.
They risk everything just to be a part of the only color they’ve ever seen in their grey little lives. I love them.

If you could find anything, I would love to learn more about the evolutions of moths :) (Or moth man and the disasters he's appeared in!) I also love where you go into the genetic diversity of the peppered moth. Can't wait to see more!

Fun Fact: earlier this year there was a study that showed the reason why moths are attracted to lights is because they use moonlight to navigate. I don't remember how they do this, but they orientate themselves to always have a light on their back, and as such artificial lights cause them to get confused and fly in circles, as they don't know how to navigate away from the light/flame.

Evidence found for the reason the attraction to light, It has to do with the moths to differienciate from up and down according to the moons light emmision. Then making them confused constantly trying to find their equilibrium.
Is a recent finding. Evident on how old of a creature they are. They dont know what artificial lighting is

I've actually been to Mothman fest three times, the first when it was 'cancelled' and the other two when it was celebrated. Man, I never had so much fun. I met so many interesting people.
