On a particular distance my lens clicks sharp and good image ,bt the moment if any change made in focal distance (zoom in /out) picture quality blurred. 2. Auto focus not working nor focus ring 3 and camera shows f36 when i change my aperture.. Please reply
If replacement cable is available then better to change it since in my country I couldn't find the cable I had to do this fix. Most probably for you if the motor is clicking means the gear might have shifted from its place that's why it's clicking. You will have to open it up and see if the issue is cable or gear.
Yes by Soldering it will ensure that over time the wires won't move around and create any short to neighbouring wire also in this i didn't use pcb masking I just used tape. Using double layer of masking after Soldering will just make the cable lot stronger .
you have done it, speaking of service centers, my experience is (even the official service in kerala) just stupid. they damaged my lens. now I am trying to get new/old.
Yeah the official service centres in India are just a scam i feel for one small cable repair they don't have replacement cable and tell to replace the whole lens set inside. They are just scamming people what good is official service centre if they can't service the product . If i can do it with very limited expertise then why can't they ...
Hello, I have a nikon AF-P 18-55mm with manual and autofocus problem. What may be the problem. I really don't know what to do. Both are not working. I know that the lens is not that expensive but i can repare it, it would be cool. If you have any advice?
Does the manual and autofocus work on other lenses other than 18-55mm...if so then the issue is with lens only if manual focus is also not working maybe the encoder pin/wire that connects from lens to camera might be damaged... check if those pins are making proper contact with camera

What a poor design by Nikon. It was a good lens. I have mine and have problem like yours too. Cant do autofocus, nor do manual focus neither. Everything is electric in this lens. AFS are better than AFP, because they built like a tank! 5 years using this AFP lens and just yesterday Its broken, while my 10 years nifty fifty stil works like a charm! Also, the zoom lock lens isnt working, I wonder why. Thankyou for sharing FPVMATE. I will buy new lens, rather than dealing with this BS.

Manual focus should be working even though cable is cut check if the orientation of all parts are in order and lens moves when you rotate it one thing is if cable is cut the the fine focus won't work so for that you have to join the cable or replace the cable no other option

All products will have some or other flaw . what's disappointing and annoying is Nikon service centre instead of reparing the damaged part they want to replace the entire unit and charge hefty for it.

Probably that auto focus flex cable is only the cause you need to replace that... manual focus also won't work without fixing that cable i think so

Yes it can be removed easily and it won't cost much

The will not replace the flex cable alone but will replace the entire motor and lens part which will cost around 4.5k INR
