Big thanks to Arknights for working with us on this project!! I wish you all the best rolling for Chongyue #chongyuecomehome
BIG BRO CHONG YUE LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I’m hoping I can use this engine whenever I’m ready to animate my book series in the future and bring my ideas to life. I look forward to that day!
I got him in the 1st 10 pull alongside SilverAsh
OMG! You make 3D animation so nice!!!! I will get Chongyue!!!
I already got both him and Lin. But all I really want is his sister Ling.
This man be collaborating with all the Gachas.
Honestly wasn't expecting it but Dillongoo has come a long way it's nice. Also nice to see you here my friend.
@@wealthybone2990, Always nice to come across you, friend.
Yo Butter how are you?
@@ArchonKujo, Doing good, how about you?
@@Butter_Warrior99Doing great!
The animation, the voice acting, the choreography? It’s all SO GOOD! Love it to bits. Keep doing what you love to do, man. It’s wonderful art.
fr, specially the fight animation it was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dillon is out here making 3D combat great.
I wanted to commend the top tier fighting choreography and animation. Here's just a few of the many things I l appreciated about the animation that I hadn't seen mentioned:
1. The two kung fu fighting styles are iconic, and the wide and powerful sweeping movements of the tiger style and the quick and nimble punches and parries of wing chun were marvelously captured as if these were real life actors. Their fighting stances at 3:45 is just one demonstration of the authenticity too. The low yet strong stance versus a stable and balanced stance juxtaposing each other is nice.
2. They way Chongyue parries, grabs an arm and then takes advatange of that opening to grab Tianpei's face is spectacular. Using that opportunity to further improve his opponent shows how strong he really is.
3. I also loved the subtle details of how Chongyue chooses how he uses his tail both as a way to warn Jieyun and also to dominate Tianpei. He demonstrates mastery and control over mind, spirit, and body in many ways.
4. By deflecting the chakram in a way it will return to Jieyun, he shows he's willing to negotiate through other means rather than brute force. When he offers a chance to duel hand-to-hand, and as Jieyun begins reaching for a desperate measure despite his openness and warning, he chooses to simply stop her hand instead of forcing her down. Not only does this make Jieyun consider who she really is up against, but demonstrates that the gentle and firm hand was better than the strong and violent one. Finally, after she has had some time to think, he is able to communicate with her and reach an amicable outcome.
5. His surprise at being knocked down and becoming excited is so good despite him saying no words until after his victory. It feels as if he's measuring up his opponent leading into the final round, acting mostly defensively until he finds the openings he can use.
6. The double take of Chongyue's slow motion knife hand into the actual speed followed by a tail stab was very clean. The animation is similar to older Jackie Chan kung fu movies where hits were shot twice to increase the impact. Here, the attack misses, but the speed at which it occurs shows how fast Tianpei is able to react and dodge the potential blow while also regaining the advantage. This just further highlight's how it truly is a battle between two masters compared to the previous sparring where Jieyun was within at Chongyue's flow.
7. Instead of letting their opponent recover and losing advantage, they both attempt to capitalize on the openings they create, which Tianpei highlights by landing two blows to the face. This puts Chongyue on the backfoot with multiple retreats and attempts to regain the flow. Tianpei's offensive fighting also allows Chongyue to redirect many of his attacks from direct damage into favorable outcomes as well.
8. Finally, the leg grab into Chongyue's reversal by literally stealing Tianpei's footing leading into a complete domination of rapid punches and overwhelming speed reminescent of Ip Man into a leg grab followed by the finishing blow.
9. While it may feel like using a tail is cheating, they both have tails. However, Tianpei doesn't use his to grapple which can highlight the difference in skill between the two. There's a few times where if he used his own tail, victory would have been potentially achievable.
10. The sportsmanship between them is great. The final outcome highlighting their respect for each other dictates the honorable match between them. Chongyue shows his respects to the one individual who has challenged him in a long time. Tianpei announces his goal to surpass the person who defeated him. This further develops with Chongyue's trust in Tianpei's power, and in the end we can see Tianpei's silent but steadfast determination to grow stronger.
I honestly loved this animation despite never playing Arknights myself. This animation is in my own humble opinion a classic animation with great attention to detail and a clear message.
In game, Chongyue is the oldest of 12 'siblings', each of whom is simply a fragment of an extremely powerful god-like being known as Sui who was destroyed and divided. Each of the siblings came into being when they answered the question 'who am I'? Chongyue was the first to come into being and is thus considered the eldest of the siblings. From there, he dedicated himself to martial arts and military exercises. As such, he has been Great Yan's 'grandmaster' of martial arts for hundreds of years.
The first round going to Huai Tianpai is, as such, genuinely surprising to Chongyue. This is a man who has been undefeated for centuries.
Incidentally, Chongyue and his siblings are each based off of the Chinese manual Tiangong Taiwu, with each sibling representing a chapter.
Chongyue (originally called Shuo before being given a new name by Jieyun's master) represents Jiabing, the chapter of military technology.
The Second Brother (the currently unnamed antagonist of this section of the series), represents Taoshan, the chapter of ceramics. Through the use of black goblet, he can possess inanimate objects and turn them into living objects.
Ling, the third sibling and eldest sister, represents Qunie, the chapter of fermented drinks. She is fond of reciting poetry (going with her drinking) and is capable of distorting reality alongside summoning illusions.
Nian, a middle sister, represents Wujin, the chapter of metallurgy. She is incredibly proficient in craftmanship and has forged numerous powerful weapons.
Dusk, the youngest sister and 11th sibling, represents Danqing, the chapter of ink. She is a gifted artist and is capable of being her paintings to life.
All this is just one small section of the arknights story overall, and I very much recommend playing.
@@brendonbarr6136 yep, also the second brother is a BIT on the crazy from memory. also just so happens i think to have the desire to return them and their siblings back into 1
@@brendonbarr6136 Whattt I didn't even know that. And I've never heard of that Tiangong Taiwu thing before... And I'm ethnically Chinese... AND I play arknights

I didn't notice it going missing until you pointed it out. I thought maybe he could just 'recall' it at any time or something. He certainly seems like the kind of 'mystical astheticism martial artist' that would do that kind of thing. XD
Thank you because I didn't noticed it at first XD
Watching that part frame by frame, he must'ge got second tail or something to do it as it only disappears when he's already in front of her.
@@Kio_Kurashi Well, a bit of a lore spoiler:-
.

.
.
That sword contains his former self, for he is 1 of the 12 fragment of a deity called Sui. The fragments embody the Tiangong Kaiwu, Chongyue himself being the representation of "Jiabing", or military technology. He sealed his god-self into that sword, essentially making him mortal.
I love the fact that Yostar is spending our money towards proper marketing lately. They didn't have to, but they did anyway. Not only does this promote the game to a wider audience, it also promotes content creators in the process. After all, I wouldn't have discovered this channel that have the ability to create such an amazing animation.

@@Lynn12120 These characters are all from a game called Arknights! There's a special event that just started today featuring Chongyue.
@@llealynarisia362 thanks, might just check it out later!
That last scene of Chong Yue slowly walking towards the very menacing Feranmut is so freakin' good and badass!!! Amazing work!!!
There is so much cool stuff in here that went over peoples heads.
The fact that Jieyun got her ass handed to her being quite normal, given she is an operator that is a sniper and acts on a large range, which means she basically completely out of her element in this fight, but also given that the event has mechanics that allow enemies to reach ranged operators in melee combat for the first time, it makes a lot of sense (not to mention that she got injured very early in the story when she first stole the sword).
The 'finally' at the start of the duel has so much weight behind it given that he left his daughter and hasn't seen her for 10 years just to become stronger and lived the last 3 years in this city, just waiting for this duel (working at a clinic just to pay the clinic for the people he send there).
The overarching bit of the Sui sibling shadow showing at the end.
Hope we get more fan animation like this. And not just the fight scene, but also the other "non-fight" scene such as when Rat King uses his arts to make a barrier, Chongyue talking to the other Sui brother playing Go, Silverash talking with Ratatos with fire surrounding them. Some of them is just too damn iconic to just be a CG art.
Actually, this one is not a "fan" animation. Arknights was the one ask him to do the works and offered everything they can to done this animation.
@@shirashrimp5463 yeah I know. Just hoping the other animators to make more like this.

this is probably one of the best things that happened to arknights along with the anime getting a second season
How is the anime. Haven't watched it or consmed any content fromthe games tbh. Is it decently faithful to the game lorewise.
@@umbranassassin8372 It is directly adapted from the main story. Sadly the anime (first season) may not be that interesting to some people since the chapters it adapts are the weakest in the story, but that just shows how the story only gets better and better. The world of this game is amazing and vast, and the second season will start to show what the story truly has to offer, or at least should if they do it correctly. I would recommend the game if you like tower defense games, but this one has a catch, it isn't just placing towers and waiting for them to kill, here you have to manage in real time to activate skills of the characters, position them strategically (since they can be attacked by enemies), etc. Incredible OSTs and art too.

Great to see Arknights getting the love it deserves
Better animation than some anime studios out there. Cant wait for a full length movie from you if you ever decide to undertake the challenge I know it would be amazing!
What really impresses me about these is that the expressions and the combat, to have the combat focus half of it looking 2D between the smooth 3D movement is so crispy and writing of it phenomenal, interesting choice of characters from the game, this animator should win a nominee as the best animating freelancer.
its pretty common it's kinda the cell-shad specialty of China more or less hehe
I love how Chongyue’s tail is added into the fight and everything. It’s so awesomeeeeee! 😊
China whenever they use more rare weapons an combat styles I always feel like me in another world is nutting
I've gotta get this good. Thanks for creating another inspirational Blender animation with Goo Engine!
start small. learn the basics. break everything into smaller steps
As someone who read the event story, I love how you incorporated the story in a way it brings the maximum amount of action possible whilst staying 80% true to the original dialogue and its plots. The attention to detail on the choreography is really impressive. I can tell the motion and the attack pattern is inspired by some of the famous HK movies like IP Man and the ones with Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee as the main actors, etc. Anyhow, I can’t wait to see you animating more of Arknights
First time viewer here, I thought the initial talk between Chongyue and Jieyun was a bit stiff so I didn't expect much, but when she threw her chakram my jaw dropped, like holy shit those fight scenes are actual eye candy and it kept getting better. Props to the entire team, really well done
A most pleasant surprise to see an Arknights animation here. Absolutely brilliant work. Bravo!
4:49 "Freeze frame! Yep that's me, you're wondering how I got into this situation, well it all started after running away from child support-"
I like their tail movement, it's very detailed
This might be the very first full blown collab animation from the Global side of Arknights. Hats off to everyone involved in the project!
THIS IS SO SICK???! HELLO???!!!!! Incredible work as always!!!!
The animation is smooth and well choreographed.
The only thing I would criticize on it is Chongyue's tail. NOT in how it is animated, that's great.
But how it comes out of his body. A Tail generally follows along the spine and in almost every shot, the tail is coming out of his back at a 90 degree angle, which makes it seem more like someone just glued a tail straight to his back (like a bad cosplay, often seen in T-rex costumes for kids on Halloween). So that would be the only thing I would like to see improved upon.
To be fair, it's best to assume that his other siblings are like this as well. They're based on chinese legend after all so mythical stuff probably won't match with complete realism
Well yeah arknights is a gacha game trying to lure people in with sexy/cool characters not realism. There is not a single realistic tail in the whole game
@@dahappinezz_5744 I would have to disagree with that assumption. Look at Ling's gorgeous official video for her event. While you may not see how her tail connects as easily as in dillongoo's video here for Chongyue, you can see her silhouette clearly and her tail does not stick out at a 90 degree angle.
Yes, it's fantasy and doesn't need to be completely realistic. I'm just saying that a 100% 90 degree tail looks like a children's costume attachment though. As it could have curved out to a 90 degree instead of a perfect right angle, showing flexibility (as it definitely has) while not looking so off.
When something is so glaringly off, it breaks the illusion of the fantasy.
@@RaphDeGrate You are right. It is fantasy and wants to look sexy and cool.
However I disagree that there are no real tails in the whole game. Ling, as mentioned to the other person, in her own trailer, while not shown as clearly as dillongoo's video here, shows her silhouette and it is definitely not a 90 degree tail. I mean, sure, a dragon tail isn't realistic in the first place, so you could argue that, but that's just getting silly.
The worst tail offenders in official art would be Tomimi, who has this same problem as Chongyue in this video..... in fact, looking over almost all the Arknights characters with tails (there are surprisingly few given that they're all mixes with animals....), I would say none of the others really have this problem of the 90 degree tail. Even Nian/Ling/Dusk, they're official art has their tails looking more proper. Nian's chibi from the front looks like it could almost be a 90 degree, but you cannot check it from the back because of her large shield, but that's only on the highly distorted chibi proportions. As far as even looking at the other gators, Gavial's tail does not stick straight out like Tomimi's.
CAN YOU find any sings of a non-realistic tail (again, something like Chongyue's and Tomimi's, not just pointing out any tail and saying humans don't have tails so it's unrealistic, as that would just be stupid)?
I see no reason why something cannot have a realistic feel (like an "ah, if this was real, it would make sense") and still be sexy and cool.
@@RaphDeGratethat's a crazy take. I stayed for the lore.
I hope Arknights do more projects with this guy, Animated Arknights fight scenes have the potential to be one of the best.

Tails are actually very useful when in hand to hand combat. The animation utilizes it well. you could see how Chongyue was using it as support in his stance like someone pushing you from behind so you won't fall off easily. Which I find very interesting

I was wondering what this fight looked like, this is almost perfect
Also for those who wonder, Wai got one up on what’s basically the founder of Kung fu, in only 40 years, though that’s only because Chongyue sealed himself within a sword to feel what it’s like to be a mortal man

As someone who has never played Arknights, yet Dilliongoo is out here making the best animation for these gacha collabs! It's amazing that were constantly seeing more animation even by freelancers!
I've been doing character development in fictional writing and D&D for over 20 years. The fact I can read everyones body language and expression is pretty fantastic. Especially since I do practice a form of martial discipline, I was able to read their styles. There's so much passion in this it's ridiculous
surprise surprise! i never thought will see another project in this time~
2:53 it is most 背山靠 skill i never seeing in animate I was impressed 👍
Yaaaay Klee gets to sing another outro! Her singing voice is just perfect for epic anime songs! No giant piece of debris can stop her beautiful voice!
for people who confuse why they changed this fight scene from the story i think they don't even try to replicate the story scene but the essence and characteristic of them with their own twist and I'm all for it, AK never really focus on fighting scene at all with their presentation but the people and world building anyway
while in the story tainpei and chong yue fight for their long promise and to spark up people spirit from an incoming catastrophe we didn't see much of a fight but a thought of their strike, and this animation did well on showcasing them actually fighting in real time, also love the subtle chong yue realizing jie yun head ornament

I really just need to take a moment and appreciate how beautiful this animation is. From the choreography, the voice acting, and of course, the animation, character, designs, and direction. It’s very, very impressive. i’d love to see more. I don’t mean to make comparisons, but it definitely much gives me the same feelings I had when I watched RWBY when Monty Oum was still animating it. I can't help but watch this animation over and over again! Absolutely love all the small little details added to the fights. Great job everyone who worked on this ❤
the fight scenes are always amazing, id love to see some behind the scenes or some of the choreography and how these fights are inspired and planned out :0
I don't know anything about Arknights world, but I have felt something very powerful about the music at the end of the video.
You have my thanks to create that master piece!
Omfg, WHY IS THIS SO GOOD!? The animation has NO right being this smooth, the voice acting that good and the fighting so well made... GREAT animation man, hope to see more Arknights stuff from you, dude!!
Fell off my bed when I saw the notif omgomgomg
THIS IS SO HYPE IDEK ANYTHING ABT THE MATTER BUT I LOVE HOW YOU WENT FROM MY BELOVED LITTLE CAT ANIMATIONS TO ANIMATING A SMOOTH DEMON MAN-
SO EXCITED TO SEE THE PLACES YOU'LL GO IN THE FUTURE, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU LOVE KING!
This is why I like your animations!! The subtle nuances and how clean your work is, it's famn impeccable
How come this amazing video is 7 days old and doesn't have at least 2 million views!?
The choreography and animation is sick I love it!
Another fine addition for my study
Good job dillongoo studios!
The Dragon Grand Master looks like he is using Wing Chun
It was I think
I love how chongyue uses his very long tail when fighting
THE COMBAT FLOWED SO WELL WTH, THE MOVES ACTUALLY LEAD INTO EACH OTHER HOLY CRAP
It is crazy to think that a few years back you where making those fun cat anime parodies but here you are now with all these collaborations from different games, your animation quality has sky rocketed over these years and I am all here for it.
The choreography is actually insane wtf. Good fucking job
The gunshot sounds for the take off was wild
Man i know nothing about arknights but this definitely did its job in making me curious. Super good as usual Dillon. Im curious if you ever have any plans to branch out and make a series of your own at some point, because i wouldn’t be able to stop myself from watching the entire thing and sharing it to everyone i know. I never get tired of your animation style, its so masterful.
LETS GO ARKNIGHTS AND MY FAVE ANIMATORS. A COLLAB I NEVER EXPECTED BUT THANK YOU
This animation is absolute fire, from every move to the city's walls and defences to voice acting and music/sound effects. Thank you, everyone who worked on making this masterpiece!
2:30 WAAGHHH THE DETAIL OF HER WEAPON GETTING CAUGHT ON THE NICK OF HIS TAIL SEELS THIS ANIMATION FOR ME 😭😭 The little details in every single one of your animations can make a fellow animator shed a tear 🥲 Amazing work as always! 💞
Your production is so good!! The timing of the sound effects, the voice lines, the atmosphere like when the shutters close. It's all just too good lol
So much flow and expressiveness, be it in facial expressions, dialogue and combat! It's a mighty work of art we have witnessed today, and it's all thanks to you.
This was awesome, the bgm, the fluidity in animation and the emotions are all top notch. I don't play Arknights but still can't help but get amazed with execution of this video.
Every video from these guys is phenomenal. Loved everything about this. Thank you to everyone for their hard work.
Man, i remember watching this dude when i was probably 10 years old. The Gods Don't Bleed was the first video i watched from him, and seeing this man still make animations to this day, it brings huge happiness and a nostalgia hammer straight to my face.
