Katherine Healy was such a gifted young lady ! I've seen a video on YT, she was 16 and was invited at l'Opéra de Paris to dance Etudes with Patrick Dupont ! stunning .... Beautiful lesson with a great teacher and a great pianist also !
You can hear someone practicing opera in the background which leads me to believe this class was in one of the old buildings in NYC (midtown are the ones I know) where there are many small studios holding practices, auditions, classes happening simultaneously. Gloriously grimy and run down, full of artists. Not to mention how challenging to perform all barre exercises in the center. That's great training.
So, I did the first few exercises in between my usual training routine, and whoah, that tendu in first with the retiré somehow unlocked some new turnout muscles for me? O.o I've been looking for something to help me finally utilise all of my theoretical turnout; I always failed because I felt so stiff and grippy, holding everything from the butt and hips, but I maybe fount the 'inside of the thigh' people keep talking about? I'll report back once I've tried this for a bit...
