    Clear and sensible.
I don't know that I've ever seen a push coming from a lone assailant. The push is almost a demonstration that they outnumber you and they know you don't want to fight a group.

Basically, don't put yourself into such a situation which could lead to a violent argument or even a physical altercation. That sort of discussion should be avoided in the first place, that the real self defence. But if you're not talking shit or arguing, if you're just a random person who was attacked unprovoked, then you need to be able to fight, but it's always better to try to run away, because the violent person is usually strong and motivated for violence.

@@staysafemartialarts When I was 12 to 14, I was a bit aggressive (traumas etc), but I never really got into a lot of trouble. However, I was at risk. When I started practicing karate as a 14 year old, I never got into a fight or that kind of trouble again. Competition was fun, but as I grew up and matured, I realized that karate is much more brutal and much more about close range combat than I had thought. It's all about non-consensual fighting: if you can't avoid trouble, if you can't get away, de-escalate, if you can't escape, you have to be able to survive, which is basically what you're talking about here. I find it fascinating, and scary haha! Also, I've heard that self defense against a knife is best at very close range, where you try to control the knife hand, while striking somehow. Have you done anything on that theme on your channel?
