This ground really needs to be blasted. Tons of time is wasted just trying to get a bucket full.
Maybe so, but it's not always easy to get the required permission and licensing for blasting. I visited a chalk mine in England in 2017 and there were two 984s slogging away with rippers and small rock buckets. Blasting would have saved time, but it had to be done the hard way, and the machines were battle-worn with extra plates welded onto the boom and stick. Video of one here: watch?v=PgT3ujeJHA8

@@rogerwoodland2587 just needs some rain to be honest, we notice it with our smaller (30 ton) excavators as well. In dry areas or times the tracks are very very noisy

not much wrong with it tbh, it's just a bit noisy, doesn't hurt it that much. If they had some rain that would help it though
