You see more steam engines on heritage railways, than you do on the main line. Try a bit of trainspotting on the main line, and see if any steam railtours come your way. I've seen one on the main line at Chester, hauled by LNER A4 Sir Nigel Gresley. That was last year. I'm sure you'd like to see a steam railtour yourself.
