My fishing bug laid dormant for years then this year I caught my 1st pike. Since then I've watched 1000 hours of TH-cam fishing videos. You guys are the most informative and quite frankly, the most entertaining. So so much education I've picked up from you guys! Thank you!!
More videos like this please ! When you just sit down and talk about it it sorta gets detached but when you show you doing the things you’re talking about it really helps put everything together and makes it all the better. Great stuff!
By far the most knowledgeable dudes on bass fishing on TH-cam, PERIOD! I watch your videos constantly when I’m not fishing, but then I run into one problem....THEY MAKE ME WANNA GO FISHING! 😂 Phenomenal work gentlemen, keep em coming 🤙
No nobody breaks it down l8ne these guys , I've bass fished my whole life and still learn tons of refining techniques from these guys I've improved more this last summer listing to these guys then I have in the last ten years
This might sound weird but it really helps my confidence when you show things like breaking off, getting snagged, and fish getting away. I've learned so much from this channel and I don't feel like a failure anymore when things go wrong, because you show us all the time that even the best deal with the same problems.
Another fine video Matt! Beside your mastery of fishing, I'm always amazed at how the places you fish always seem to be free of other boats and jet ski traffic. Most of my fishing is at The Lake of the Ozarks, which is like fishing at sea during a tropical storm. In fact, the last time I had a chance to fish (which was at LOZ) I got slammed into a dock and shattered the yoke on my Ultex and then, once home, I discovered that my steering tube was snapped in two. Big boat's have ruined that lake for both day and night fishing. Yeah, even night fishing. I took my son-in-law out for a night of fishing and at 11:30 at night we were taking water over the bow of my boat while trying to fish by a marina. All because of non-stop barge traffic. I need to move closer to Table Rock!
Thanks to you I got on my first ever Frog bite. The Little Allen color and wore myself out catching fish up to 5 lbs. Never had a morning like it. I finally see why you talk so much about frogs. I am addicted after one morning. My wallet wont be the same but neither will my fishing.
Could y'all make a series of videos on how to find certain areas too fish like ledges, points, weedlines and explain different kind of that and what baits to throw and how to approach them to fish them. Great video Thanks
BIG BAITS AND BIG BLOCKS If you go back through their video archives you will find videos on every type of structure we encounter on lakes across the county. They may not be titled as “fishing ledges” or “fishing deep weedlines” but they are all there. Actually some may be titled specific enough that they will be easy to find. I know when Matt fished Guntersville recently, he was fishing deep ledges. Good luck
Not only are these videos informative and explained well. I also enjoyed the travel series showing how many baits will work pretty much anywhere in different conditions. Good stuff man.
My dad and I smoked the bass yesterday down in Louisiana. They were eating the zoom fluke almost every cast. Love the videos u guys produce weekly. Best fishing channel on YT.
Tried the punch technique around noon or so on a hot day...second punch and BAM. Two bass were there and they fought over the bait. Love putting the techniques you guys teach to use.
There's nothing better than watching a bass slam a frog. Everything from the pop, the hook set and the boat flip is entirely too much fun. It's an incredibly small list of alternatives that I would rather be doing.
Super inspiring video! I live at Lake Havasu and temps are 113 degrees right now. We have lots of Tulies and you have inspired me to get in there and horse them out. Really diggin' your YT channel.
The frog catch at 4:49 really shows why you need a 7'3" xheavy and 65 lb Braid. The frog catch and the flippin catch right after it also say something about the expride itself, really all of the catches were a test of the rod, but those 2 were back to back , I know a lot of rods that would snap when trying to horse fish out of grass like that. Great video as always!
Awesome video Matt I'm going fishing tomorrow morning and I'm going to use all of my knowledge that I've got from you and Tim and catch me some slouches brother thanks for all your bids keep them coming
Amazing video Matt. Really learned a lot about how to flip and frog fish. I was actually heading to the lake this afternoon to try some myself so hopefully this will help me to put a few in the boat.
Good video Matt. I had fun watching to the point that I have decided to get up early in the morning and drive an hour and a half to a water discharge lake from a large electrical generating plant n northern Okla.. The water is warm near the discharge all winter and the bass have the ability to stay active and feed all year round. They grow larger as well. Well, out of my enthusiasm from your video, I'm heding there at 4:00 AM and plsn to be on the water by 6:00 AAM. I've never fished that lake before however, I've never taken on a challenge that I did not expect to win. This one in the morning is no different.
As usual another great video from the best bass fishermen on the internet. You make it look so easy Matt. Love my Exprides and DC's. Outstanding combos. God Bless you and yours.
I knew there was someone I followed that punched with an EWG and I couldnt remember. Had an argument the other day on a page with someone trying to say you wont catch fish punching without using a punching hook. Lol I finally just told him your over thinking things dude. Best wishes, tight lines
At 11:30 the most important thing was said in this video. Losing your cool when you break off or a fish comes unhooked will cost you more than that fish. Matt did exactly the right thing, kept his cool, picked up another rod and right away had the pain from just seconds earlier erased.
Dude. When you broke off , swung the rod, and pitched back in I thought, “That’s how you do it.” And just like it always, you explain what I’m typing while I’m typing it. I usually delete these comments, but I’m letting this one fly. 👍🏼
Your water temp is 82 wow ours is about 95+ right now. I’m not able to catch them with a frog once the sun is up, but haven’t punched much this year about to soon. Thanks for the video!
Matt, I get why you use a 7,1:1 ratio to bring in more line quickly.. I have always used a 5,1:1 on my extra heavy rods thinking I needed the extra torque they provide to really pull the fish out of the cover. Is this not exactly right? Thanks for all you and Tim do!! Love it!!
As always, incredible videos. Love watching these. No buts or however on this. The gear you are using is close to $600 per setup. OUCH! I can only wish I could have 1 setup like that, never mind 3 or 4. Would love to see the average fishermen's setup more often in these videos. Kind of like some of the ones you had in your comparison video.
I’ve never been big in to frog fishing as I am from Maryland But I finally went out and got a frog rod (cuz I was tired of using a MH St Croix that was the perfect Worm rod) and got me a Matt Allen color Bully Wa and went frogging and caught one Saturday my first frog fish. Now I want more!!! But it’s tough out here, you may not get one blow up in 5 hours.
Thank you Matt for an extremely educational video. I appreciate how you explained your techniques. I have a question for the viewers since Matt won't have time to respond. I fish from a kayak and don't use any GoPro products. Approximately how far would Matt have been from the toolies for his casts? Thank you for any assistance from a viewer.
If say, 85 degree water isn't optimal, then when a cold front or cool front with rain and wind comes in, that will aerate and cool the water same. Shouldnt that make the LMB happier and fishing better? I'm not talking about a door-slamming cold front, just a drop in daytime temps from like 90 to 80?
Have you ever tried the deps slither k? Works well for me when they are targeting those little bait fish...I would be interested in your thoughts on this frog.
what are the odds. I just picked up some flipping hooks on my way home from work. along with some sweet beavers & a new whopper plopper since I lost my other one.
Can a medium heavy fast action rod work for a lighter flipping and punching setup? I have a 7ft medium heavy fast with a lews reactor and 50 pound braid. I’m wanting to do some flipping and pitching. I was wondering if the strike king hack attack flouro flipping jig would work ok? I don’t want to have to buy a heavy rod unless it’s necessary.
Great vid 👍 I just moved to Florida and I'm new to bass fishing. I fish about once a week, and I've never caught anything. Any advice for a new bass angler? The water temps here have been over 90 degrees. I've watched many of your videos to learn more, but I can't seem to get anything going, any help would be appreciated 🙏

No nobody breaks it down l8ne these guys , I've bass fished my whole life and still learn tons of refining techniques from these guys I've improved more this last summer listing to these guys then I have in the last ten years
A hard day on clear lake is always better than a good day on Folsom thanks for reminding me of that!
This might sound weird but it really helps my confidence when you show things like breaking off, getting snagged, and fish getting away. I've learned so much from this channel and I don't feel like a failure anymore when things go wrong, because you show us all the time that even the best deal with the same problems.
Missed strikes, too. I can't tell you the number of times I've had to dodge my own lure.

Yes!!! It just clicked, you're going to have a blast!
Fun to watch you fish anywhere, but especially on your home lake. Welcome home sir.
So appreciate staying calm in losing your rig. Thank you
I rarely miss a TB video and, as always, this one doesn't disappoint. Thanks Matt!
You do a great job of explaining what you are doing. Thank you, Austin from South Florida
I can watch this channel all day everyday.

Awesome info Matt!!! Never a dull moment!!!!
Man I am glad to see you have gotten that hook set back in swing. I would watch this all day (at work...lol). Thank you for sharing.
I'm five and a half minutes in and I just learned A TON! I see where I'm going wrong or not going far enough! Thank you as always for the best videos!
Not only are these videos informative and explained well. I also enjoyed the travel series showing how many baits will work pretty much anywhere in different conditions. Good stuff man.
Love this kind of fishing. Tully all day.
The second bite are spectacular, awesome.

That was fun just watching!
Love your vids! The quality and the information is absolutely awesome! Thanks so much for sharing with us! Thanks buddy!

i know it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Demetrius Abel Flixportal
@Talon Kellen Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it!
@Demetrius Abel No problem =)
Great video guys! I’ve been laying into 6+ pounders on the jig bite the past week

Hooked into my first two frog fish today. Thanks for the recent tips on shaded pockets in vegetation.

Goodness gracious I love watching your videos.
Keep slaying them bro! Hope to be back on that lake soon, it’s a huge lake! Enjoying your channel.
Thanks for the awesome videos an tips. I learn a lot from y’all channel. Keep the coming. Right lines
Fishing the slop. Love it.
Great job Matt
Great stuff as always. I really learn a lot from your videos! The in depth explanations are fantastic! Thank you.
Love your videos!!
Man clear lake is beautiful!!
Can you imagine your home lake being clear lake and as your running down the lake you just see Matt Allen flippin some tules. That would be awesome
Damn those are some really healthy looking fish
Frog fishing is one of my favorites
Hot sunny day is my favorite time to fish, gotta go in after them
that's some power fishing right there
I knew there was someone I followed that punched with an EWG and I couldnt remember. Had an argument the other day on a page with someone trying to say you wont catch fish punching without using a punching hook. Lol I finally just told him your over thinking things dude. Best wishes, tight lines

That Expride though! Sheesh! I’m sold!!
Love it. Great video 👍
2nd My #1TH-cam channel! Thank you Matt and Tim!
Awesome info! Thanks!
Your water temp is 82 wow ours is about 95+ right now. I’m not able to catch them with a frog once the sun is up, but haven’t punched much this year about to soon. Thanks for the video!
Nice lake, looks exactly like the kind of waters we have over here.
Love your videos. Thank you for all the tips!! 🎣

His hook set sounds like a sword slicing through something😂 I love it
More of these!!
As always, incredible videos. Love watching these.

Almost every video description includes a "budget" option. Though this one did not because we ran out of room/time.
@@tacticalbassin thank you for responding. I'm new to the channel, so I didn't realize that. Thanks.
Awesome video. Fantastic information. Cant beat a tactical bassin fishing video.
How about a 1 vs 1. Matt vs Tim! Just for good ol fun.
Great video guys give us some bank fishing content before the Summer's over please
I’ve never been big in to frog fishing as I am from Maryland

You guys should do a video on boat eddicate how to fish around other angler's
This video clearly shows the need for a heavy flippin stick. Especially when the fish get hung up they want to stay near their logs/ Tules.
HELLLL YAA!!
Nice video 👍
106 degrees is redonculous!
Flipping and frogging is one of the most fun ways of catching some green slime! I love the way you think! Great minds think alike.
When 65 lbs braid finally makes sense. Was some thick stuff
It's like those bass are waiting for something to fall of that high grass so they can eat it.
What typically makes rods good for certain applications? Like, what makes a frog rod a frog rod and a flipping rod a flipping rod?
Our water temps are in the 90’s . Hard fishing.
Nice fish.California has bigger bass than Florida (that's where I live) thanks for sharing your day
I'm from Florida too but those are fighting words.
@@marcusyoung2870 well I mean California State record was 21lbs Florida's is around 18 so he's not wrong.
@@toxic1698 They took our fish and fed them trout 🤪 #cheaters
What I should have said is the fish he was catching made for a nice limit.

Congratulations on your quarter million subscribers guys!!! Now all you have to do to hit a million is strap some GoPro’s on some turtles 🐢😜🤣
what are the odds. I just picked up some flipping hooks on my way home from work. along with some sweet beavers & a new whopper plopper since I lost my other one.
You guys should make a vid on the Tokyo rig
I'm getting dizzy from you rocking the boat , but seriously in Indiana we don't have places where we can catch bass on repeat casting.
Around 8:05, it looks like you had a blue green algal bloom. Any tips for fishing in green water?
Man every time you crank that thing up out of the water holding the middle of that rod I'm cringing waiting for it to snap lol
I wonder how a Live Target hollow body sunfish would work for the fish targeting small fish
The size of the fish over and over and over is extremely impressive. Geez. Makes me feel bad about myself.
that dude can set a hook

How You like the spicy beaver?
Also have y’all tried the small sizes of the stc swimbaits on swimjigs?
I like the spicy beaver, at least until I have to go get that giant shot of penicillin at the free clinic.
Do you have a pitching and flipping vid with DC rod ..link...if not can you please make one.
@ 13:48 that V-8 in the background!!!!
Not too close to Clearlake & I don’t own a boat do you have any spots & tips for basing from the bank near Sacramento
