Scary Old Elevator

This is the elevator in the building where the bed and breakfast is located. It's kinda scary!

Quite noisy coming down, but quiet going up, likely a basement machine room. Best guess a winding drum, the abrupt stop on the 2nd floor possible fault with the controller and brake relay, engaging before the hoist motor had cycled down.

This is my biggest fear 😨 I really really dislike this just looking at it and it's mechanism and cage is just terrifying
