Taiwan is probably in my top 2 places I’ve ever travelled! If you have time, I highly recommend travelling outside of Taipei - the train goes everywhere so it’s pretty easy! I highly recommend Kaohsiung + Cijin and Tainan (amazing food and history) and if you don’t mind a bit of hiking (easy trails are available) then Yangmingshan, Taroko Gorge and Alishan are beautiful! Shifen and Jiufen are fun to go once but they are tourist hell and on busy days it’s so overwhelming and hard to even walk (so make sure you’re sure there’s something u want to see there) 😅 if ur heading that way I recommend dropping by the houtong Cat Village tho it’s so cute!
Obv the top thing to do is night markets! The best one I went to was by far Ningxia in Taipei. The crispy spring onion pancake place (called Yue Shi) is divine and the food is all high quality. I had the best papaya milk and watermelon juice there. Raohe is also decent but I would avoid Shilin unless there’s a particular place there u want to try.
The other thing is Taiwanese breakfast! Everyone recommends Fuhang bcus it has a Michelin but it’s so overrated for how long you have to wait. Go to Yong He or honestly any other one with good reviews on google and it’ll be better! Tian Jin Onion pancake with all toppings is also a great breakfast and worth the wait!
If u like zoos the Taipei zoo + maokong gondola is actually really great and the museums in Taipei and Tainan are also quite good. Instead of going up Taipei 101 I recommend climbing Xiangshan - you get a killer view of the city with 101 in it.
Make sure to brush up a little on Mandarin if you can bcus it makes it aloooot easier (I saw u doing some already in the last vlog tho so I’m sure ur on top of it)

if you're thinking of moving, have you considered connecticut? it's a lot cheaper but quite a short train/bus ride to NYC so you can still visit friends!
What is a good area to move to in CT? I'm from New Orleans and live in Texas and I just don't vibe here.
@@marcymallz I actually just moved to CT from Texas so I’m not super knowledgeable !! from what i know west Hartford is a nice suburban area, just keep in mind there’s not that much to do here, it’s just somewhat close to Boston and nyc while being cheaper
