Great vid!!! Coming from a former RV sales manager...KEEP THE VAN, travel trailers/5th wheels and Class A are just quickly slapped together! Go to Elkhart, Indiana for free tours + watch how they are thrown together so quickly! There is a reason why 95% of RV salesman dont own an RV😉 Also, so many people have become travelers with covid...can be easy to pull off for pics, etc in a Van-no way dragging a trailer. Campsites are harder to find, but in a Van you can practically park anywhere! That van of yours is awesome and definitely a keeper❣🌞

My son went to private school in the Long Lake area so I am familiar with the area. At the end of the school year the headmaster took the kids bushwhacking through the forests. They skied at Tupper Lake in the winter. People go to the Adirondacks to mountain climb, ski, camp, hike, fish, skidoo, boat, bike, and yes, relax. I love touring it with you.
Loved seeing the scenic highways and cute towns. Very cool that you were certified as a forensic accountant. There’s always more money in the private sector, public service is a calling, it’s not about the money. My dad always told me never be a public servant, there’s no money to be made. He was in the military for 25 years so he knew about being a public servant. When he retired from the military and went into the private sector he made big bucks but missed the military lol. I miss traveling so much but life has other plans for me at the moment. I’m so grateful to you and for your channel, which allows me to vicariously travel along with you and Lilly. Hi Amber and Lily! Here's an idea...maybe it's already crossed your mind, but how about gutting the van and hiring a carpenter to build it out just the way you want with lots of storage. Just removing your bathroom will create so much more space! It'd be cheaper than buying a new truck and trailer. Plus towing a trailer will get old very fast! Good luck with what ever you decide! You know you can give lily pepto bismol for her upset tummy it’s safe for dogs only but not for cats. You can also use pumpkin( in the can) it soothes a upset tummy too but it’s for body weight 0-15lbs is 1-2 tablespoons, 15-35 is 2-4 tablespoons
You were in my neck of the woods. The smoke is from both the west and Canada. Lake Durant had a pull in camping area my grandparents took us to growing up. I hope you enjoyed our Beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
Yes, the smoke is coming from Canada . Some of that is haziness we get in the summer due to the humidity. It has also been really hot here the last week .
About 30 yrs. ago their were forest fires in Quebec in October. And the smoke was terrible in upstate NY, where I live. The smell was much worse, it smelled like your neighbor's house was burning and your other neighbor had a campfire going.
I Love New York! Love all the trees and green everywhere. Rochester is now my home from Texas. I'm in the Finger Lakes area. We move every year to somewhere in New York since moving up here 7 years ago.New York has a ton of waterfalls and of course wineries. Was driving at Lake Ontario a couple of weeks ago, the smoke was soooo bad. It might have been when you were here 😃
Great video! The Adirondacks are my back yard, spend time hiking and camping there in the summer. Know all the roads you traveled on. Firewood for sale; NY State has a law that you can't move firewood more that 50 miles due to insect spread. So the locals are able to fill the niche for the out of town travelers.
No U-Turns with a travel trailer. Lol Lilly and her side eye 👀 ☺️ . The reason people offer wood on the roadside is because most east coast camp grounds won't allow you to Burn your own wood. It has to do with invasive plant species from other states. This is especially true in the Chesapeake bay water basin. Thanks for another fun travel video.
OMG...I went to Utica College for my last 1 1/2 years of school. I was an off campus student and the school was attached to Syracuse University at that time-mid 90's. It has come into its own!

No no no, dont sell van. Right now is the worst time to buy anything else. Wait till mid 22 at least. But honestly, I've had truck and trailer as single woman, and its so much more trouble, fewer places you can go, and you're just pulling a tin can. And I'm not convinced the air b&b would be anywhere near the same financially. But each of us has to make our own decisions and mistakes. Love your video. Thanks.

Are you going to Letchworth State Park? Gorgeous there too. My husband and I are spending our summer in NY State next summer. I was born in WNY but my parents transplanted me in the Phoenix area when I was in 1st grade in 1961. They needed teachers "out west" and so we settled in Scottsdale where i grew up. So I CRAVE green and all that New York State offers. It is my happy place! Went to Old Forge as a wee girl and they had a place called The Enchanted Forest that my grandparents took me to. Want to go back so bad. I think it is now a water park. Enjoy this beautiful state!

You are in my neck of the woods ! It is beautiful here . Not all of that is smoke . It has been very hot here so some of it is just the haziness we get with the high humidity. Also the water levels are very high and some of that is flooding due to “Fred” . If you were here in July it was definitely smoke from the Canada wild fires . I have the certificate in the same field from Utica ! Very cool
I’m in Northern California about 30 minutes away 45 minutes away from the Caldor biggest fire that’s threatening Tahoe. It is atrocious. We have to have a filters going in our house at all times and we still smell smoke. I’ve had headaches for about two weeks now and they only have about 13% contained it’s truly awful.
Wow! Surprised that much smoke is making it that far! We have missed school 2 days this week due to the smoke, and have had indoor recess nearly every day. Thinking about heading to the coast for Labor Day weekend just to breathe some fresh air!

That is one place that when I get on the road either in the spring or next summer I have to visit I missed that area we used to have our summer home in Woodstock matter of fact we were neighbors to the farm where they held the concert but that college you visited Ithaca my cousin was a professor of agriculture there for years. I have had many different types of RVs. Have you thought of keeping the van (or getting a new one) and renting a car to travel around areas you really want to explore? Walking from the front to the back to retrieve anything you need, a van is ideal. js

When you stopped at that small shop to look at the oversized chair, it reminded me of another neat road-side stop in New York: Fabulous Furniture on Rt 28 a bit south of Boiceville. It's definitely worth a stop.
This years' smoke isn't as bad as 2019, but we have something like 250 forest fires burning in the Province of BC at the moment. Even though there are way less on the Island than the rest of the Province, my ares are definitely starting to burn. Looks like a beautiful place ❤️ Poor Lilly😥. Travel safe my friend ❤️🚙🇨🇦

about 2 or 3 y;ears ago , had a course to take in Utica. went to the train station, and they had a really good restaurant there. enjoy the finger lakes and rochester.
We had overcast due to CA smoke in NH and Maine. My whole life it was just called a bean bag toss game, but now it is called Cornhole, don't know why you still use bean bags.
Your van is just fine. It's the compact vehicle. Maybe you need to rearrange the furniture. To what you are happy with. Home away from home. But that is my way of thinking. (You are the boss). Regards

I have a Chihuahua and I never feed her until the night time she eats around 6:00 PM A few treats in the morning you should do that for Lilly and as far as your van I think you’ll be making a mistake getting something bigger it’s so much more easier with the van that it is anything else that’s how I feel about my Pleasure way
Hi Amber, I'm only 2 min into your video, but I have to pause and say that Utah looks exactly (possibly worse) than NY, but it was surprising to see your footage. I just read that the smoke from Russia's Siberian fires has reached the North Pole and that is a first in recorded history. I also remember last year. I was in the Tetons after you and while you were in Glacier I believe. I was so confused driving into the Tetons -- You could not see the Tetons!
When I was rolling out of Yellowstone area the smoke had just hit us and I raced to get to Glacier NP hoping to avoid it. Only one day without it and Going to the Sun road was full of smoke. Such a travesty. I hope you get back to see the Tetons one day. It’s so beautiful there. Very majestic
@@storychasing I am actually going again this year. Same time frame (Sept because it's cooler, less people and the drive through the fall trees in the canyons in incredible). As you know, with the CA fires, it's looking like the parks may be smoked out again. I hope not, but we'll see. Right now I'm watching the Caldor fire because it may evacuate South Lake Tahoe. I was just in Fallen Leaf Lake (South Lake Tahoe) and it was beautiful, now it looks like an apocalyptic nightmare.
Way back when Casey Roman was Van Traveling... She wondered about just using a SUV & Staying longer in towns to enjoy them more... But she soon discovered that it'd be Awful... Having to Book your stay everywhere so far ahead... Remember how you had to Rush thru the West side of Florida to get to your reservation in the Key's... Your whole life would be like that ... No more Freedom cuz everyday would be a deadline to stay somewhere.... Maybe while you are in this time of Indecision... Replace your double seating with seat belts... With one that lifts up & folds against the wall... Have you can seats swivel & use those Laguna tables.... It'll give you a nice open area to move around in... & More time to figure out what direction you want to go... As always... Love's to Lilly.... My cat Kirby has a tender tummy too...
Please don't sell the van. That's your home. You'll have more freedom with the van than Airbnb. You're an inspiration to me and when my van is complete I'll be hitting the road.

She’s fine. I think it was just because she ate earlier and we were twisting and turning through the mountains which sometimes can cause her to get a upset stomach. I should’ve known not to feed her before we left.

Keep the van and you can still hotel it but you’ll still be able to have a bathroom and kitchen on the road!!!

If you get to Long Lake again you must eat in that beautiful Adirondack Hotel. They have great food in a great atmosphere

I have had many different types of RVs. Have you thought of keeping the van (or getting a new one) and renting a car to travel around areas you really want to explore? Walking from the front to the back to retrieve anything you need, a van is ideal. js

When you stopped at that small shop to look at the oversized chair, it reminded me of another neat road-side stop in New York: Fabulous Furniture on Rt 28 a bit south of Boiceville. It's definitely worth a stop.

This years' smoke isn't as bad as 2019, but we have something like 250 forest fires burning in the Province of BC at the moment. Even though there are way less on the Island than the rest of the Province, my ares are definitely starting to burn.

Poor Lily. Try tucking a lavender sachet next to her on the front seat or a few drops of lavender oil on a towel close to where she can smell it. It’s supposed to be calming for carsick dogs.

about 2 or 3 y;ears ago , had a course to take in Utica. went to the train station, and they had a really good restaurant there. enjoy the finger lakes and rochester.
We had overcast due to CA smoke in NH and Maine. My whole life it was just called a bean bag toss game, but now it is called Cornhole, don't know why you still use bean bags.
Your van is just fine. It's the compact vehicle. Maybe you need to rearrange the furniture. To what you are happy with. Home away from home. But that is my way of thinking. (You are the boss). Regards

I see you drive through cute little towns that I would stop at and just change my schedule or plan. But I know it's your journey not mine. When I retire I will stop in and stay at the lakes.
I have a Chihuahua and I never feed her until the night time she eats around 6:00 PM A few treats in the morning you should do that for Lilly and as far as your van I think you’ll be making a mistake getting something bigger it’s so much more easier with the van that it is anything else that’s how I feel about my Pleasure way

Hi Amber, I'm only 2 min into your video, but I have to pause and say that Utah looks exactly (possibly worse) than NY, but it was surprising to see your footage. I just read that the smoke from Russia's Siberian fires has reached the North Pole and that is a first in recorded history. I also remember last year. I was in the Tetons after you and while you were in Glacier I believe. I was so confused driving into the Tetons -- You could not see the Tetons!
When I was rolling out of Yellowstone area the smoke had just hit us and I raced to get to Glacier NP hoping to avoid it. Only one day without it and Going to the Sun road was full of smoke. Such a travesty. I hope you get back to see the Tetons one day. It’s so beautiful there. Very majestic
@@storychasing I am actually going again this year. Same time frame (Sept because it's cooler, less people and the drive through the fall trees in the canyons in incredible). As you know, with the CA fires, it's looking like the parks may be smoked out again. I hope not, but we'll see. Right now I'm watching the Caldor fire because it may evacuate South Lake Tahoe. I was just in Fallen Leaf Lake (South Lake Tahoe) and it was beautiful, now it looks like an apocalyptic nightmare.

She’s fine. I think it was just because she ate earlier and we were twisting and turning through the mountains which sometimes can cause her to get a upset stomach. I should’ve known not to feed her before we left.
