  • Hi Everyone! I hope the remaining few weeks of the year have been nice to you. It has been a pretty slow end to the year for my wife and I. This generally lends itself to a lot of reflection. Thinking about the past year and everything I have done. Thinking about all that is to come. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming but ultimately, I am just grateful to be where I am, thankful for the people in my life, and fortunate enough to be doing the things I love to do. This time of year always slows me down and reminds me of that. Anyways, I really enjoyed creating this weeks performance. In listening back to the last few performances, I felt they got away from the original intent of this "project", if you will. I was doing more prep, versus grabbing a small idea during the week, and then performing it over the weekend and capturing that performance in one take. The last few, I would stop and redo it if I didn't like something I played. This week reminded me to let go, and just be within the musical moment. There is even a moment (that you will see) where I feel like I really lost myself and was just inside of the music. It felt really good and I am going to continue to harness that as I go forward. After all, that is the true purpose of me doing this. Sometimes you have to move away from something and look back to truly understand it. That actually reminds me of the teacher who taught the painting class while I was in school. He would always remind us to "do the dance" when painting. "Doing the Dance" meant to step a few feet back from the painting so you can see the entire thing and remind yourself of what you are actually painting. When working on something, it is easy to get lost in the finer details, losing our original intent or purpose. Its always good to take that step back and remind yourself why or what you are doing. This week's performance did that for me.
I'll stop my rambling now! I hope that you are where you want to be and are posed for a great 2025. I will see you all in the new year!
    -Michael

Straight vibes. I could listen to this for hours. It feels like a montage of all my best childhood memories playing in my head.

@@alexashleymusic I appreciate the love, Alex! That’s a massive compliment, especially coming from you! My plan is to eventually release these as an album on streaming services so people can listen to it on the go!

Thanks for listening! For now I enjoy doing this on my own. It’s been a nice meditative experience. I may collab in the future though. Got some friends I may pull into these as features.
