The best ever beautiful clear voice in depth review. Even some games I wouldn't play myself I still love to hear about them in a special way. This has been a rough year all over for everyone thanks for bringing joy to me every video you make. Thanks for the time and effort you put in these. Have the best day. @2.15 in your video going down stairs I thought of 7th guest room. Anyways bless you
I love this notion of the game's camera as an external -- even antagonistic -- force that is just as likely to frustrate the player as guide us. It's particularly well-suited to horror games because it helps establish the world as a place with its own identity, indifferent to the player's struggles. Flourishes like this can take an otherwise middling game and elevate it into something sublime (like with Resident Evil). Another superb video. As someone with a small channel who takes the same approach towards monetization as you, it's gratifying and inspiring to watch you continue to grow your channel without compromising your cerebral and critical approach.
Thank you so much for the kind words (and for watching of course) - this comment made my day :) The function of the camera in a video game is really intriguing because on the one hand it has a functional role but, much like a film camera, it also has a kind of voice or perspective; where one begins and the other ends/is sacrificed for the other, is where it really gets complicated! Thank you again
the camera as a character thing, or as a suggestive force or whatever, it’s something that God of War did amazingly well too. Always cool to just know what to do based on what’s in frame, odifofjfofj 👏🙏👏
Aaah God of War - good spot! So many games utilise the camera in really interesting, not necessarily 'user-friendly,' ways but it is so easy to dismiss it as a purely functional element that either works or doesn't, as with The Last Guardian. Thanks again for watching! :)
Beautiful job on this review. I'm not much for the show so I wasn't sure I would watch this. As always, you didn't disappoint. I had no idea this was connected to the original game.
Looks like quite a nicely shot and put together game that just has a few rough edges. It is a pity that there seems to be no sign of patches for it either. I can understand making a game for a modern system with this much complexity means quite a large team needs to be assembled, work together and deliver a product. In especially projects as large as this would have been, budget has a definite limit. I would say they went past their budget already and they had to release the game to try and get some of their money back etc Every game made nowadays has these risk levels, much the same as making movies. It is good they tried to add their own style. If I didn’t have such a backlog at the moment it would be worth tracking down a copy and giving it a go. Great review as always, thank you.
Regardless of the cons, especially the loading times, I'm going to have to try this when I see it in the PS4 sales :). I never would have even known of its existence without this great review either, so thanks :).
An interesting and well balanced review, I particularly liked the mentions of the character's 'tick' - can you think of any other games that used unusual character mannerisms like that? One that came to mind was Deadly Premonition where the protagonist York puts his hand to his ear when he is talking to Zach, his alt-personality. Although that game was very buggy and awkward, it made up for it in boat loads of personality and charm.
Thank you very much for watching! I haven't played Deadly Premonition yet; as for myself, I can't really think of anything besides... maybe Lara Croft drying her ponytail in the reboot series (probably because I have been playing them recently though). There's also Scott Shelby and his lumbering gait/movement you FEEL to play, which carries over into narrative scenes. Overall though I can't really think of any characters habitually doing something in cutscenes as well as in-game animations. Bump.
I know its not relevant to the video, but why hide the like/dislike ratio? Your videos are amazing I don't get it. Anyway great take on Black Mirror, I'd really love more and faster uploadssssss
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them! At first it was an accident (like-to-dislike ratio) but then I just liked, no pun intended, videos better without - people can still thumb up or down if they would like, but I get to focus on the comments, which I find more interesting :)
The disclaimer in the video notes states you do not make any money doing this. I imagine a lot of hard work goes into writing scripts, the recordings, editing the video and sound to create these wonderful critiques. I feel this should be your vocation, or you should be rewarded in some way! Although I suppose purchasing games to review from a consumer standpoint, gives you total editorial freedom to choose and critique games both mainstream and unusual like this one and freely talk about them warts and all.
It is quite a bit of work, but it is something that I enjoy doing, especially with the creative freedom to do it whenever/wherever/however. And on that note: thank you for supporting my channel for so long! :)
I've been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance and the loading screens in that are unforgivable, not to mention the bugs and glitches. I like it, but I don't think it's good, if that makes sense. Like, I would not recommend it to anyone. I really like your reviews, and had never heard of this game. I'm not tempted to buy it, but I am interested in watching a playthrough
All of their faces seem a little off I think haha! I liked this personally but totally understand it if someone had the opposite opinion Thanks for watching! :)

Your reviews should be mandatory for any aspiring video game critic. Thanks again, Noa.
High praise, thank you so much!

Solid, insightful take. Thanks, I always find it hard to think about the role of the camera in a game.
Thank you :)
This wasn't a bad bad. It needed more development time, but it had an eerie Poe/Lovecraftian atmosphere.

had initially dismissed this title but now thinking i should give it a shot. thanks
Thank you for watching!

I'm glad you enjoyed it - thank you for watching, despite not knowing what it would be about!

I'm happy to share - I hope you enjoy the game!
Thank you so much. I hope so too :~D.

Bump.
Great review! like you said this game has potential if fixed.
I would love to see a patch on the PlayStation 4 specifically :)
I really enjoyed black mirror 1 and 2, 3 was ok. Thanks for the review. Games like this rarely get looked at anymore sadly.
I am pretty curious to know just how much Black Mirror 2017 differs from the original/trilogy - thank you for watching!
Great review ! Have you had the chance to play Moss on PSVR ?
Thank you for watching :)
I haven't, no, but the list of mouse-led games is piling up with the recent release of Ghost of a Tale!
Still no release date for consoles though :( Oh well, my backlog is out of control anyway.
Great review, but the main character is not called Tom, but David :-)

Tom? I think his name is David Gordon. Makes me wonder where you even got that name from?

The protagonist's face seems...off...
