    If there is an apocalypse we are all going to Anders for fresh showers and lots of good food :) you make everything look so simple that it inspires even the least of us. And let there be rain... beautiful, lol, stay blessed.

    Thanks for sharing your off-grid shower system! We have a setup almost the same, and it works great as long as we have enough power. We're planning to get a few more solar panels to make life even better.

    Pretty cool little cabin & yes it's easy free water as long as it rains :) My cabin is a little bigger & I've been off grid for 11 years , I'm lucky to have a well here so lots of water heat on propane & fully functional bathroom & kitchen pretty simple with a little solar :) Good job on showing step by step !👍

    Good job, I love the living shower curtain! Do you plan to clean the water filters every once in a while or that an overkill approach ?

  • @cykes5124
    @cykes5124 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    When you collect more gold in the future may want to think about replacing the pressure side hose line with something less leak prone. Additionally those rocks are from an ecology that's good for the lake but not great for humans. Heat + wash should get them clean. Vinegar is really good at that too. If the building is shingles the tar pieces will flake off so hopefully you have something to capture and remove that before it goes into the drums. Looks like peaceful living, is great to follow along.

      Thank you for all the advice, very informative👌👌Regarding the roof: I’m in the proces of collecting the last old metal plates to put on top of it soon, so thst side will match the other side, so no char particles in the system hopefully😊

  • @davidlp6510
    @davidlp6510 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You must be in a region where it rains a lot. If that is the case, wouldn't you have issues with mosquitos? Once again if that is the case, an outdoors shower could be deemed troublesome for fending the mosquitos while one showers. Other than that, it was a very clever idea the entire project. Cold showers are nasty. I did not see how you build the shower floor and the walk back to the house. For sure I will try to copy your idea. We don't have regular rains, but it will be extra cool to have an outdoors shower.

    • @andersboisentinyhouse
      @andersboisentinyhouse  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually it’s not too bad with the mosquitoes. But with climate changes we are getting more intense rainfalls and more often also! And then intense heat.
      Thanks, really glad you enjoyed it!😊

    Nice work. In my country, the willow trees grow into massive trees that are 5m or more. Did you plant some sort of dwarf willow, or are you planning to prune them severely annually?

    • @andersboisentinyhouse
      @andersboisentinyhouse  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks!! I think that I will just cut them down or remove them entirely if/when they grow too big! Hopefully not in the near future. I plantet some sticks in the garden three years ago and they are still just sticks😊

    What’s the plan for winter? Not being sarcastic, but curious as this is the sort of set up we were going to do here in Canada, but our concern was how to make it work in the winters which can get quite cold? We were thinking if storing the water and heater inside an insulated space.

    • @andersboisentinyhouse

      I made a video about how I live off-grid during winter - hopefully it answers your questions😊🤞

  • @kayericwinkler

    I was thinking whether it would be better to connect the barrels at the bottom, so you don’t need to switch the hose. On the other hand, if the seal is not 100% tight, the overflow system is superior.

    • @andersboisentinyhouse
      @andersboisentinyhouse  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah yeah, you might have a very good point there! Think I will try that👌😊Thanks!!

    Also what about a charcoal layer in the sand filtration?

    • @andersboisentinyhouse
      @andersboisentinyhouse  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It won’t work when it freezes, but it is pretty functional rest of the time😊👌And I would only use charcoal if I was to drink it, but this is only for showering so I think it’s okay😊
