the wheel in back is there becasue lemans cars had to have a spare wheel and a back seat to prove they were 'road cars' in theory
the porsche 917 has the spare wheel in that spot... a fun little homage imo.

I have thr roller coming Raz.
Tires are carbon fabric reinforced on a 2 piece alloy wheel. The spare is for scale. The porsche 917, le mans rules, required a spare. Hence you have a functional spare in scale location.
As far as how the tires will hold up at 100mph plus, rlaarlo advertises that with the included, but not instalked, gearing a top speed of 100 mph on 4s with the motor in the rtr you got. That ain't shabby.
Betting the tires would hold to, at least, that speed if not more. Carbon fabric, when molded into other material, doesn't stretch, so balloning may be minimal. Be worth a test hit at least.
The fifth tyre is because its a scale look a like of the Porsche 917 which had one too

The car itself is supposed to resemble the Porsche 917 the real thing also has a spare tyre there so that’s why there is a tyre there

"This" is a spare tire. The AK-917 is designed after a 1969 Porsche AK917 - 24 hour Can-Am Racer. The rules at the time stated a spare tire was required. This is why we all have a spare tire there, which I think looks awesome like the rest of this timeless fluid design by Porsche.

The spare tire is because the actual porsche 917 had to have a tire there as per race regulations.

A nice build looks like the LeMans 24hr Porsche that Lego Speed Champions just release. The only thing I don't like is the skinny rear tyres I think you need to change them with a correct offset and fatter tyre.
Fatter tyres on the rears like the real ones would be super cool !! 😉

Get yourself some cnhl packs @ < 1800mah and run them in parallel. I'm 100% convinced fpv drone racing packs deliver the highest power output per mah. No other competitive RC discipline has battery sag on an osd right in front of their eyes at all times.

this would probably be the easiest kit to get to 100 MPH. Pretty much any 4T or lower 540 motor with a decent ESC and a 3S will get you there no problem

The reason for the spare wheel is because the Porsche 917k had a spare wheel which is what the car is based on.

You didn’t mention anything about the dampers and springs.. if they look good or not, or if you’ll be using them or if you can ditch them for something better. Also, metal diff rings or plastic?
