I think R/C cars are running into a wall that sport-bikes have run into, which is an aerodynamic barrier around 200mph that requires exponential power levels to surmount. As a former fighter pilot, I can tell you I can feel massive aero impacts to aircraft configuration changes, such as missiles or fuel tanks or anything else that hangs off the jet. I believe the R/C speedrun folks would benefit more from aero work and suspension work than more volts or more power. Try 3D printing small vortex generators and testing them on different parts of the car with tape and yarn and a gopro to see if it makes parts of the body more slick. Vortices can increase or decrease pressure depending on where you put them. Small fins in front of wheel wells to divert air away from turbulent spinning tires also an idea. Also making the bodies out of less deformable material or reinforcing the lexan, even if heavier, would yield better results from controlled and managed aero than less weight.

A big part of that is that everyone is still making the back edge of the body, and the diffuser, act like a big parachute. Look at the long tail Oldsmobile Aerotech to see what your body needs to look like behind the rear tires. That shape, with a single vertical fin in the center for lateral stability will help your drag numbers immensely.

200 mph is what factory bikes can do.
300 mph is the new goal for motorcycles. The wall starts at 250 mph. Bill Warner went 311 mph in Maine with over 600 hp.

@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe not everyone is willing to share their build. It’s not just in RC speed runs, it in the 1/1 car community as well. Honestly I’m fine either way. I completely enjoy that Raz and many others share information and teach us all the important things needed for speed. All we need to do is take all the information Raz just gave us, and we can figure it all out.

@@j2kinflarc768 I think it’s totally fine to keep secrets in 1/1 racing. There is a ton of money involved with building and prize money.
I just appreciate the help, this is a hobby and helping others out is always appreciated. Even with all the secrets exposed, one still has to drive their cars as fast as they can on the perfect road. Not easy!

The ultimate fanboy showdown. Who will win? They both go 150+ plus(cause you built them)Same ramp. Same landing area. Fuc*king send them and let’s see who is the most durable. I understand this would be a very, very pricey video. But I bet you have most of the parts lying around anyways. Might as well do it. Hahahahha. It. Would. Be. Amazing.

Haven't had any time to work on the 4Tec 3.0 Corvette speed run car I told you about many, many, many months ago (partly due to my job, and partly due to my buddy Richie (aka Driftomaniacs) moving away (he & I were supposed to build it together)...but, I'll (sooner, or later) get to it (also working on another half-dozen projects, from crawlers to boats).
Just curious...but...what app are you using for calculating estimated "top speed"? I've tried a few different (other) ones, but haven't found one I like. The one you're using seems like a good possibility.
