  • In this video I bypass and open a cheap tubular lock using only a straw. This technique won't work on all tubular locks, but it works very well on smaller locks. Because the straw is soft it conforms to the pins and basically acts like a key.

    Thank you! I had an old piece of electronics with a similar lock securing a hard drive. Your straw method took me about 1 min to unlock. Then I discovered the equipment would not function without locking the hard drive back in place. With a fresh straw in hand, I was able to relock it in about a minute. Stupid lock! No reason for it to be in this equipment anyway! I saw replacement keys online for $25 plus $10 shipping. You save me some bucks. Thank you again!!

    Haven't seen one opened like this for a long time! The old bic pens with the top pulled off used to work well aswell :)

      It's sad how things like that get overlooked. Thanks for watching.

    I have a couple of these too. 😜
    You can use a throwaway straw to impress an older plain tubie as well.
    Yet some I would run from. Lol

    I just used this for my lockbox that we couldn’t find the key after moving. I was shocked it worked so easily!

    Hehe, impressioned with a straw. I think my first tubular lock was also tiny and also surprised me.😎🍺

      Pretty sad lock, but now I'm glad I kept it. I don't actually own any bypass tools.

      Seriously though. This is why you don't buy the cheapest lock you can find on eBay.

    There is no key bitting, that's not a lock by definition, it's an opening catch 😂

      It's probably the worst lock I've ever encountered, I'm just glad I didn't pay very much for it.

    Nice job my friend, was it an old master lock?

    • @CameronDunn
      @CameronDunn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it was a cheap lock from China I bought on eBay. I bought it long before I realized you get what you pay for when it comes to locks.

    How many pins in that lock 4?

    • @CameronDunn
      @CameronDunn  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's 4, this is obviously much smaller than most tubular locks. The concept works on larger locks though as long as they use the same type of spring for all 7 or 8 pins. I used a straw, but many people use pens.

      This lock was a joke, but I guess that's what you get when you search eBay for cheap locks!
