Imagine the terror going up and down the colonies when they hear that not only did Charleston get leveled, but James Flint and Charles Vane have joined forces.
So I wonder had half the set, and one of their ships hadn't mysteriously burst into flames, if the show would've ran more than three seasons. Still an awesome show, love the characters based on people who really lived. Like Charles Vane, he was in fact hung in the same way the was depicted on the show. It was called a short drop, and like in the show, family or friends would hang on the condemned legs to speed up their death. Jack Rackham was also hung, and his woman Bonney, died pregnant and in prison with. Or so history shows....
That show was AWESOME. And it would've gone more than 4 seasons had one if the full size ships and some of the set not burned. Here's some triva, who is Toby Stephens (Capt Flint) mother in real life. I'll give you a hint, think Granny on Dowton Abbey, she's a famous actress in her own right. Here's more trivia, in what James Bond movie did Stephens play a heavy who headed up a fencing school.
0:51 Toby Stephens said in an interview that Zach McGowan actually dislocated the stunt guy's jaw. The butt of the gun was rubberized, and he told Zach to just go for it and hit him, seriously underestimating how strong he was. And that's the take that made it into the show.
I'll never get over Zach McGowan as Vane. All deep voiced and macho as fuck intimidating. Then you hear his real voice and he's a Californian surf dude lol
"For those of you who live to see tomorrow...."... It was in this moment, that the Judge, jury, and every fkn soul present knew.. THEY WERE FKD!!! Gotta love that line :)
@@theaztecwarrior1190I couldn’t agree more they were worse than pirates. After saving Ache’s daughter. They return the favour by killing Miranda and putting him on trail. Like WTH!! 🤦♂️😡 Even Ache’s daughter was upset and furious with this outcome. She really believed in James and Miranda. They pretty much killed the good in James and brought the flint persona back. They got what was coming to them. Maybe not the civilians of mother and children. But the politicians and soldiers. You bet. Don’t mess with Captain Flint. He had a really good thing going and wanted to do good. But they screwed his operation and didn’t want it! So awful 😣
He was definitely my preference, looks like him, sounds like him already had sword fighting. I guess not being in a bunch of crappy high budget movies cost him the role
@@darkwolf860 that and Henry Cavill apparently kept calling about getting the role and he says he's a fan of the games so that probably played a factor in it. I still would've like to see this guy play Geralt.
When there's Vane and Flint on the screen, Black Sails became incredibly excellent. Imagine if the series was more about Vane and Flint... It would be such a masterpiece.
It reminds me of the scene earlier in season 2 where Flint tells Dufrene you have to sink the ship. Once someone no longer fears you and challenges that name youve worked so hard to build, its not enough to escape with your life no matter the odds, its not even enough to beat them, you have to absolutely anihiliate them and wipe them from the face of this earth so everybody knows what happens to those who challenge your name. Its a great mindset only Flint seems to have.
I loved how the scene didn't shy away from that. A lot of showrunners would be too scared to show their protagonists killing innocent people to escape, but the creators of Black Sails understand that audiences will follow morally flawed characters so long as they act in ways that are consistent with their development.
Vane: 'What do you suggest?'
Flint: 'We remind them that they were right to be afraid'

That’s a terrifying duo lol. Wish they had more scenes working together

The total scene is one of the best in the show. Epic!
i agree, that put a + to the series
Agreed. I wish they had opened the next season with more of it instead of just a single raid. I don't think it would have gotten old.
By far the best finale of the show.
By far the best. I watch it over and over every so often.

listen to what Vane says. They want to convince you, they are your friends and we are the enemy...

Zach's a big dude, so I could certainly see it. 🤣

I freaking love how those cannons sound and from ship to city city to ships and from ship to sips battles looks amazing as well
Same here. They sound incredibly powerful, with an awesome and satisfying impact effect when they slam into people/buildings.
Cleisthenes and Pericles yes I wish they would keep doing more seasons
I find this funny cause of you being an Arsenal fan lol

Black sails gave me thrills that no other series ever gave me.
Epic at its finest.
Still my favourite scene in the whole series. Never get tired of watching.
That's Geralt of Rivia right there!

This scene caught me off guard. I loved it every second.

subwoofers and spatial speakers make this scene super scary and intense!

EPIC
This was a freaking bad ass episode a lot when down I knew if these two worked together they can inflict a lot of damage with both crews
how did they see his hands raise and lower all the way from the ship? and fire super quickly?
They weren't on a ship, vane's men scaled the walls guarding the city took out the guards and used the guards' cannons against them
Spyglass from the fort??
Ravencoin is one hell of a strange looking TV show.....
