    « About 3D printing »
3D printing is often called additive manufacturing as well. It’s a rapid prototyping technology which uses plastic filaments that are extruded under high temperatures. Layer by layer it 3D prints the physical object. Professionals and makers all around the world use Ultimaker 3D printers for rapid prototyping, engineering, product design, 3D printed art, jewelry, and in fashion, medicine and education. With several aftermarket or 3D printed add-ons you can even turn an Ultimaker into a food 3D printer.

@@jacobtran4010 Because some stupid riche (from parents most of the time) people have time and money to spend. They will probably think something like "we can feel the générosity of the 3d printer who appear on this white plastic motorbike, like the snow coming from the sky in a cold winter." or some bullshit like that... it's a good opportunity for people who want to make money, giving the opportunity to rich people to think they are someone special owning special item...

As a motorcyclist and a 3d printer myself I am impressed. Definitely a fine work of art. It should be in a museum. You could probably have bought a couple of old cb500s for the price of the pla but you made something unique and incredible. Hopefully you will go on to more great projects. Great stuff!

It's fricken ART people. I can't believe all these fools asking and saying "does it run?", "what a waste of a project", "can think of better things to print with a 3-D printer".... This video shows just how cool the 3-D printer is. It shows the multitude of things you can do with a 3-D printer. Nothing more. I think it's awesome myself. Quit picking on this man. He showed us something new and cool.

Reminiscent of Fumio Yoshimura's Motorcycle or Shi-Jindian's wire motorcycles. I've always been impressed with the commitment it takes to finish projects like these.
My only criticism of this project would be the low polygon count of individual parts. Why not up the count and print nicer pieces?

You could buy a real 72 Honda CB500 for about the same cost as one of those Ultimaker 3D Printers.. And you could actually ride around on it, and own the real thing.. He also didn't mention how much that plastic cost to run through the printer to make this huge model. Factor in the cost for the plastic, and you could probably buy a nice Harley for the total cost that it took to build this model.

    • @sandytorres6707

Yeah but when it comes to building things like prosthetic limbs, the cost of the material is WAYYYYYY cheaper for a 3-D printed device. Which makes it a lot more affordable for those that don't have the money or the insurance to pay for an expensive device.
