Dec 20 2021 my March 21 Model Y was T boned by a red light runner.
Walked away unhurt but the Y was a write off. Ordered a new one on Dec 22, waited till Sept 22 for the new one, glad I'am driven a Y again.
For me my Tesla is the safest car in the world.
Austin has been a boomtown long before Tesla came to Austin.
We had that saying in Portland for 10 years now - and now we are destroyed culturally - we wore it as a badge of honor - we turned to something absolutely horrible - hope austin doesn’t suffer the same fate -

Austin has been 'booming' for a while actually, with surges in building permits spiking several times over the past three decades or more - but with Elon and Tesla in the area there certainly could be surges in growth of a totally higher magnitude. I hope the talent which is attracted to the Austin area is genuine and not too niche, so that healthy long-term decisions can be promoted instead of the woke toxicity that is currently trying to tarnish Austin's brand. The bats roosting under the Congress Avenue bridge have more sense than many of the people further up Congress Avenue or sometimes on Sixth Street. U.T. is highly acclaimed as an "Engineering School", but Austin's roads especially with I-35 on/off ramps, plus poorly implemented East/West access, makes many of Austin's roads some of the worst engineered roads in the country - so there are inconsistencies but hopefully Austin is getting better for common sense solutions for everyday people as well. Personally though, if working in or around Austin, I would live in outlying communities and commute/visit to Austin, because driving a Tesla makes that cheap and a pleasure to do so. Austin does have some nice restaurants and music venues with places to have a good time. Again, I'd prefer more to drive into town for these instead of living right there.

I got my update download today 10.69.3.1. I have been FSD Beta user for about 6 months. I haven't driven it today yet but looking forward to the merged stack.
Not a Tesla owner, so I wonder if FSD is for all Tesla models including model 3?

Tesla is following the Ford Motor Company model. Ford, produced factories like, Rouge River and Willow Run, and went from the Model T to the Model A, B-24 bombers in the same way as Elon is developing Tesla (only with SpaceX, Starlink, the Boring Company, Nuealink, etc.) Tesla is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
No, "keep Austin weird" comes from the "hippies" that used to call Austin home (in the 60s, 70s). I attended UT Austin in the 80s & everyone knew this.
Power wall and your own self sufficiency is important.
Additionally ~ you can use a gas generator to save “ yo arse “ during outages.

I'm interest to hear if east Austin is undergoing gentrification? In the past east Austin was was low income and industrialization. Does east Austin still have low income communities?
I was in Austin when I worked for AMD in the early 90s. I was greatly amused to see “Silicon Gulch” (as it was known then) had its own Pagemill Road.
Unchecked population growth is never a good thing. Its not about land availability. Will rainfall cover the needs of the growing population or will they try to bring in water from other areas and drain lakes. China is facing similar problems. This is why desalination plants are built in the first place despite doing great ecological damage. Satellite images reveal that we have too many people on planet earth. Earth was not “engineered” for it. Elon is wrong on many things. He may be a hero in some ways, but if you were working for one of his companies he would want you to have kids but not have a family life.

I’ve been watching “All” the guys who do the Drone Videos. . . Texas, Berlin, Shanghai. . . One of the concerns I have is with the “unbuilding” that’s happening at Texas. I’d like to hear something from someone in the know at Tesla as to the reason, because “on the surface”, it looks like POOR PLANNING. I’d love to be wrong. . . but Concrete Removal concerns me.
Are you talking about inside or out. Inside it’s common practice to lay the floor slab first then go back and put the foundation pits in for the presses and castings. Outside may just have needed to get some surfaces down early on not so sure.

I struggle when I am listening to an “expert” on a subject and just a few minutes in I learn that they have misunderstandings about the simple things of which I am aware of. How can I rely on additional information when the initial information is incorrect? As a result I stopped listening at 10:16.
I am not trying to be a jerk or rude, I am just trying to be candid and transparent and provide useful feedback.
She did not know which Texas model Y she owns. She was sure it was a 4680 with a 300+ mile range. Tesla has never built such a model. Then, she indicated that the “alternate line” of Model Y assembly was “being constructed now”. I think she meant that she thought all Model Y’s were currently being assembled with 4680 and they were building the 2170 line for future 2170 vehicle production. Which is obviously not true. I don’t know what other “alternative line” she could have been talking about.

@@WarrenRedlich Thanks, but I only meant that GigaNY is routinely left off even well-intentioned lists of major Tesla factory locations worldwide. True, it mainly produces energy products, but also is the source of Superchargers and will handle battery pack refurbs . . . keeping it in the loop with respect to autos.
