@@skywalker6648 Why so you have to wonder? Why wouldn't she tell the truth? Like they say, it takes one to know one. Do you have trouble telling the truth?
Exactly! Trump is trash! Trump is deranged. Stating that blacks have limited resources and an education would increase their opportunities and wasted our precious taxpayers money to sketchy institutions President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a bipartisan bill that will permanently provide more than $250 million a year to the nation’s historically black colleges and universities, along with dozens of other institutions that serve large shares of minority students.
What she said about Grief, when people say how are you doing, I was angry because people kept asking me. Now I see why I got angry because I didn’t realize that they may have not experienced grief. I thank Whoopi for that.
My son ordered me this (by request) for my birthday last week. SIGNED! Can’t wait for it to get here. I didn’t even know what we had in common with our mothers. I only knew I loved Whoopi. Now I know another connection of ours
That's ridiculous! My mom was a cafeteria manager for years. She made sure that all kids ate. If there were leftovers, she fed parents and their kids who were not in school. She only charged teachers. When my mom did, the whole school was devastated. My mom knew the rules; but, she would never turn a hungry child or parent away. That food goes straight to the garbage if no one eats it. It's a shame. There is more than enough food in this world for everyone to eat. Unfortunately, not everyone is given that privilege.
I hate that in some schools if the kids have a lunch balance. The schools will not feed them They can not eat. The cafeteria workers can get in trouble for feeding them. Some people have been fired for feeding the kids when they had an outstanding balance. Shame shame on our system.
I recently lost my mom. Whoopi meant so much to her and also for me. We worked together at her business but for a respite to our life we watched Whoopi movies to escape the turmoils of our lives. We loved especially Corina Corina and Sister Act. Some how some where I wish I could thank her .( Whoopi) For letting us escape through her films. Thank you so much Whoopi.
Wow. I don't know too many people who have this story. I will be 67 yrs old this month and I still vividly remember watching my mother have a nervous breakdown when I was 11 yrs old. When I saw her again, I was 16. She had 5 girls so she didn't know who was who. She had been taken away to a mental hospital and given shock treatments. When she came back, she lived in a boarding home for about 30 yrs. She never had any control over her own life. She birthed 6 children and never got to be a mother to them. She passed away years ago, but the pain of not knowing what it is to have a mother, or a father is still with me to this day.
So tragic and disturbing how a woman and mother can be robbed of her life and the relationships she could’ve had with her children. A mother’s love can be so innate but even when apart, you should know she would’ve always l❤️Ved you and your sisters♥️ Always

💖 I met Whoopi many years ago at Whole Foods in Berkeley. I was so surprised and tickled I had to get her autograph & She was and is awesome. Her body of work has been a gift to all of us !
My grandmother was depressed after the death of her 5yr old son being pushed off a slide during recess. Seems the solution was to put her in a mental institution w electric shock therapy, followed with the doc recommending she "have more babies". The boys were farmed out to relatives, the youngest staying away permanently. My heart aches so deeply that these were her options back then. Options made by men without any input from her. Truly heartbreaking. I love Whoopi so much and appreciate her sharing such a personal piece of her life with us. I'm looking forward to her story on audible... so much love Whoopi! ♥
I met Whoopi’s mother while walking my son to school in Berkeley, California. I’m 22 at the time, i see this black woman doing yard work at her home that was a beautiful Victorian. I stopped because i too wanted to try some yard work at my small apartment down the street. I kept trying to study what she was doing while walking my boy and all the sudden my mouth dropped open and i said “ hey …. You look exactly like ….” She smiled real big and shook her head yes. I was new from the Midwest and had just had my first kinda encounter with a famous person. I put my finger up to my mouth to say shhhhhh i will never tell a soul but is it ok when I walk my son to school to wave 👋🏽 she said absolutely. Years later when i left and went back to the Midwest to buy my first home and heard of her passing, i remembered our quiet, gentle, sweet encounter 💛☀️👑 🕊
Whoopi’s book will be Godsent to many. I also remember my mother having shock treatment for severe depression. Today it’s known as bipolar which still DOES NOT have a cure other than some medications that might help SOME. It’s often passed down from mother to child which I was diagnosed with. Back in the day, these topics weren’t discussed, even though we know more about depression, there’s still so much stigma. Here’s a cruel example…. Years ago while attending church, I filled out those prayer cards asking God to please heal me from this horrific illness. The Pastor asked me if I was willing to talk about my experiences in front of the congregation, so I did. The response was amazing… Now I had been volunteering at this church for several years. Working in the kitchen during children’s camp during the summer and through out the year. The children’s camp had it’s own staff so I did my own thing. But shortly after I made that speech, there was one Pastor that had his daughter in that summer camp and was adamant that he didn’t want me near her and complained to the other Pastors. I was more than devastated an never went back. 😢😢😢I still live with that unbearable pain and the embarrassment I felt that day. That church in many ways became my refuge since I had been widowed and was also an orphaned. ❤Lesson learned… now I just suffer in silence. Moral of this story… you may not understand the complexities of bipolar but compassion & empathy makes a world of difference ❤❤❤
A pastor? Really? Well Jesus would have had a word or two with him because he certainly didn't teach us to treat other with contempt because of their challenges. God bless you ma. May Almighty continue to wrap His arms round you..❤
That’s horrible, you should not suffer in silence. You should still be embraced by others at church. You never know the other lives you may affect, even young ones that can’t always speak up for themselves or understand what they may be going through, like you. It’s so sad that a pastor would unwelcome you, but he does not speak for everyone at your church. He needs prayer. Luke 23:34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
Whoopi I met you when my Highschool (DeWitt Clinton in the BX) attended Ma Raineys Black Bottom on Broadway, u met with us and gave us amazing words leaving us with constant thoughts and laughter. It was such an experience I talk about with my husband til this day….Thank u❤️

I'm going to ordered this book. Wondering if I can get a signed copy. My husband passed away May 2020. Married for 42 years, and due to illness. He passed away in his sleep. I didnt get a chance to say goodbye. I love your show, and enjoy lively debates. God Bless,❤❤❤😂😂😂
Beautiful presentation of Whoopi’s discussion of her memoirs and what her mom did and said about ‘magic’ and dealing with tragic and inspiring situations
People kept asking me to let go of my brother but they don't understand that I can't because I don't know how to. He was THE only one for me after our mom passed away. We went through all different kind of emotions together. 16 years after losing our mom on October 5th, my brother too passed away on October 3rd. Can't just stop asking why? Why him and not me? Especially that I was older!!!
I can't wait to read this book, with all of this life in it. People need to read this and learn more about the way the world was, not long ago. Things were starkly different for Black people and for women in the 1960s. We fought to get these changes, and we'll have to fight to keep them.
Always remember Whoopi , God love you. And I'm very your Mother and Brother are looking down and they are so very proud of you. May God Bless You Always. ❤
I first saw Whoopi in a video while attending Cal Arts. She was not yet well known. I found her so memorable just in what I recall as some sort of street art performance. Not at all surprised she has gone on to have an iconic presence.
I just finished Whoopi's book. Excellent, well done - thank you for sharing your amazing story. Sarah, seriously? Fart? You said "we don't use that word in our home". OMG, you're not at home; don't dictate your morals, please.

Sarah, seriously? Fart? You said "we don't use that word in our home". OMG, you're not at home; don't dictate your morals, please.
She's her mom's doppelganger, and also resembles Iyanla
She also resembles the Predator
We haven’t seen Whoopi Goldberg on the view in a long time!
