As you come into PEC through Carrying Place (Loyalist Parkway) once past the Murray Canal. At the first intersection where the traffic lights are (Post Office), the oldest road in Ontario is there called Kente Portage. There is a cairn on the corner telling of this area. At one time there was a fort at Wellers Bay leading to the portage route.
Next time .. try to visit The Local Store just 2 km south of Bloomfield on the way to the beach. This is an historic old dairy barn. That’s been converted to how the work of over 150 Prince Edward county artist, artisans, and local food producers open daily April to November. Thanks, cheers
