    I’m so glad I found you! I’m finishing my first year in my NNP program and seeing all these black faces on TH-cam in the field is refreshing.

      I can only imagine! I’m a new grad in the NICU and I remember I spoke with a provider who also said he worked 24s! I thought to myself man that’s intense…I already feel like 12s are hard but I say all of that to say yes it’s scary but it’s doable. I’m sure once you do a few of them you’ll start to adjust❤
      You’re such an inspiration!

      A lil about me : early 30’s, living in metro Detroit currently, I have gotten a job offer at the children’s hospital here but I have interest in moving specifically to Houston (so I would love to discuss that!)

    I just graduated from nursing school in May( BSN) and I'm having the hardest time deciding what I want to do. The hospital where I would be working and where I went to school is a 1200 bed teaching hospital with 12 ICUs. There are so many interesting openings but not quite sure what the job entails as the job descriptions are vague. Bone marrow transplant/CIT sounds interesting, so does cardiac observation unit, PACU sounds chill?? I'm not sure.I don't want to do med surg (even though i probably should) or work with kids. Any suggestions?

    • @NurseJoy-
      @NurseJoy-  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Sara-md8nu hey first congratulations!!! I would say if the opening looks interesting the next step is to look at TH-cam to see if you get stories about real people doing the job. I have only worked in the NICU but I always thought I would like the OR too🤷🏾‍♀️. I have also thought about dermatology.

    Such a great video! I know the this maybe a dump question. When you referred you do deliveries does that mean you actually deliver the babies also. I’m sorry for the ? I was just curious. Thank you

    • @NurseJoy-
      @NurseJoy-  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! No I don't delivery the babies I stay in the room and wait for them to be born. Once the baby is born the nurse brings the baby to the warmer for the NICU team to take over care. Great question!

    Can PNP work in the NICU in houston ? & I want to become double certified as an PNP & NNP?

    • @NurseJoy-
      @NurseJoy-  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I used to work in a NICU in St Louis and they had a PNP. I think you just have to reach out to different NICUs and see if they would be willing take a PNP. Don't forget to look into transition nurseries for newborn babies. They have Pediatricians run those floors so Im sure you will have luck there!

    I’ve been debating if NNP will be for me, and you helped put it into perspective so well. Do you have any recommendations for NNP programs? I’m also in Houston 🩵
