Neil Diamond who is in early stage Parkinson't presented a song on TH-cam last week. Someone on the comment thread there told me Linda has a neurological condition which manifests as Parkinson's. Doesn't make losing Linda's voice any easier for her or her many fans. It made me cry too.

I'm a black man, with a "few years" on you (60, just turned a few months ago). So the R&B music of the 60's and 70's is very much a part of my early life. I love Linda Her voice is unique and recognizable. For vocalists under the age of 20, very few female vocalists have unique recognizable voices. Diana Akuninova is another.
Now I’m going to treat all you Linda Ronstadt fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following. Her name
Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Linda in terms of uniqueness. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , TH-cam , etc) within the first 30 seconds you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard.
If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 4 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!!
And hope you add them to your playlist so that others may enjoy.
    Please TH-cam
“ Morgana King Happy Birthday 2017” ( 4:26 in duration). The song is called “ desert hush/I am a leaf” please be sure to click the 4:26 one ( the one with a photo of her with lyrics) and NOT the 4:25 or any of the others.
“ Morgana King Prelude to a kiss” ( 3:49 duration)
    “Morgana King
    Lazy Afternoon”
) 3:48 duration with hauntingly beautiful imagery that enhances the already emotionally impactful Morgana rendition.
Perfect for our times of isolation but enraptured by the natural world.
And finally one more that is to this day her signature song about a lover that promised to return but never did.
“ Morgana King sings a taste of honey” ( 5:17 duration).
So pleased that the younger generation who I send these songs to are amazed and profusely thank me for turning them on to Morgana. Please take a few moments out of your day to listen to the unique angelic sound of Morgana. Her emotionally impactful voice will transport you to another world. I promise.
    R.I.P. Morgana King.

Thoughts and prayers with Linda Ronstadt as she deals with Parkinson’s, she’s such an amazing and accomplished singer songwriter, saying it all from opera jazz blues pop, country and she could also sing in several different languages as well,Super super talented and just one of them artist that sounds as amazing live as on the album every time..

The most incredible thing about Linda (besides her voice, obviously) is how beloved she is among fellow musicians and others. Nobody has a bad thing to say about her including band members and ex lovers and she has maintained relationships for decades. CBS Sunday Morning did an interview with her a little over a year ago and she mentioned that she just had Jerry Brown (and his wife) over for Thanksgiving.

This song is probably why she sounded familiar to you. It’s a great one but please don’t stop here. She has so much to choose from in many different genres. Try “Tumbling Dice” or “You’re No Good” or one of many duets or even Mexican love songs in Spanish. Long colorful career and many many awards. A true star.

The Ronstadt family is a prominent old Tucson family that were very musical. Linda grew up here, and much of her family is still here. Linda was one of the first huge female pop/rock stars. She later had huge hits singing latin music. Still living, but because of Parkinson's can no longer sing.

My mother bought a jukebox when I was around 8, Linda Rondstats album was in the jukebox. My sister and I would listen to it repeatedly. Our mother committed suicide when I was 10. Linda was my sister’s favorite music artist; she wanted so badly to see her live. Sadly my sister passed away in 2014. So when this song plays I breakdown. My memories are heartbreaking. You see my little sister was my best friend. This song is a reminder of my losses.

I saw Linda Ronstadt live back in the mid 1970's at Tenn Tech University while I was a student there. At the time, she was my favorite performer and I was madly in love with her. I was able to secure seats close to the stage at a venue that wasn't very nice. The concert was held at an old gymnasium on campus that really didn't hold very many people. She gave a great performance, which I was able to see up close and I'll never forget, when she sang her last song, I could barely hear her as she turned to one of her band mates and said, "Let's get the hell out of here." I don't think she did an encore, and even though she didn't care for where she was, she was still my favorite singer for many years to come.

One of the most beguiling voices ever. She has Parkinson's Disease now & no longer performs. The CBS Sunday Morning Show recently did an interview with her. She said she doesn't have the control of her voice to really sing. But she's still spunky & outspoken (including politically).
She was also one of the artists honored at the Kennedy Center Honors in December. It was a beautiful tribute & I think it's here on TH-cam.
One of her biggest hits was "You're No Good", you're bound to know it. And if you've seen "Man On Fire" there's at least one scene where Denzel is listening to Linda sing Blue Bayou while trying to rest & relax.💙
