I really enjoyed your book! I found out about Alone via your recap videos from season 6 and was so impressed with your thoughtful approach to everything, especially your shelter.
You are intentional living at its utmost. Your respect and awareness of everything around you and your thoughtfulness of, not only the choices you made for your Alone adventures, but in your life as well, is inspiring. And soon your next adventure will begin. Motherhood! Your lifelong desire! That is one lucky baby. I'm in the process of reading your book as well and highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already. Thank you for your inspiration. You are one amazing human.
If you have the time/energy, I would love to hear more details of the fabric you bought for the wool top you talk about. I'd be really interested in doing the same and have been on some websites but there is lots of wool fabric available and I have no idea which/what type and weight to get. Also what type of thread did you use? Any more detail would be really great.
Great video. Most people have no idea what severe cold is like. Interior Alaska has been -40F (same as -40C) for about 2 weeks now. Dealing with cold is challenging and an education in itself. I wish more people could experience that bone-numbing and penetrating cold. Can you do a Part 2 dealing with hands and feet?
You might have considered using a zipper on you wool shirt/hooded jacket to prevent wind and cold wind from entering the garment. Buttons in my opinion don't serve well for harsh weather conditions.
The buttons on this shirt actually worked very well for me, but regardless, using a zipper wasn't any option or I probably would have. Alone is very strict about the garments they allow, and this had to be a "shirt". If it had a zipper instead it would have been considered a "jacket" instead of a "shirt" and thus wouldn't have been allowed. There are many parameters that the viewers don't know about that we have to work around

Glad to hear from you again here!

I really enjoyed your book. You’re an inspiration. Where did you get your wool jacket pattern from, please? @BuckskinRevolution
You had your baby? Or was this filmed some time ago? I've been waiting to see your miracle baby but I thought you were due in Feb
This was filmed last spring before I had any reason to suspect there would ever be a baby.
Thank you for replying, I have been a fan since your first alone and was so glad you won your second time by yourself. The best to you and yours, ebby
